Root ROM making

How exactly do you make build a ROM, or edit roms so they have what you want every time you flash it (i.e. A custom edited ROM), and if you do it, how do you it?

For starters, you'll need to be running a Linux distro. My personal favorite is Mint. Afterward, you'll need to setup your build environment (How To Setup Build Environment). After that, you'll need to create a directory where you're going to initialize the repo. Sync up the repo. Compile.

Ahh dang, hmm does it have an effect if it's dual-booted, or if it's in a virtual machine?time to learn more about Linux, does the version of the distro affect the quality /performance of making an environment? And thanks for the link :)

I dual-boot Win7 and Mint. VM's downside will obviously be performance regardless of the resources you allocate to it.
