Root ROM Manager Backup and Restore doesn't work

I had rooted my phone before then recently I updated the official 2.2 update from Kies mini and then I rooted my phone (again) this time with SuperOneClick.

I have installed ROM manager and I have read similar posts on this issue.

I have also changed "flash clockworkMod Recovery" between the alternate versions and current version.

But every time after hitting the "Backup current ROM" the phone restarts but it doesn't back up.

This worked for me:
recovery 3e modified to work like recovery 2e - Updated 01/23/2011 - xda-developers

Be sure to read the thread, there's some important info several posts in. Download and extract the files. Enable USB Debugging, connect the phone to a PC, and run the install script. Reboot and run ROM Manager. Reflash Clockworkmod, then reboot into recovery. Run the reinstall update option from the stock recovery (blue/yellow text); you'll end up back in stock recovery. Now run reinstall again. The second time got me into CWM (green text).

Leave the update.zip on the phone. Now, whenever I reboot into recovery, it boots into stock recovery. Selecting reinstall puts me back in CWM. This also works to create or restore backups from ROM Manager. Once you get back into CWM, it will run the scripts.
