Root ROM Manager Denied

Evorom

Lurker
I have read trough several threads and have tried the various ideas for fixing anything similar to my problem but to no avail. My EVO 4G is rooted and running Superuser (even upgraded to elite) But everytime I try to run CyanogenMod 7.1.0 with clicking on Backup Existing Rom, Wipe Data and Cache, & Wipe Dlavik Cache I get a quick message of: ROM Manager has been denied Superuser Permission. When I open Superuser it shows in the log that it was denied but there are no apps on the app page. I have tried promt me for permission and just allow permission. No difference. Also have tried USB Debugging off and on. No Difference. Also Unknown Sources off and on. No difference. I hope someone can help me with this as it has been a pain so far. Thanks.

Yep, USING ROM Manager was the first problem. :)

You should be doing things manually from recovery. ROM manager is buggy and generally causes more problems than its worth.

Amon RA 2.3

this is the recovery you will want.

++1 to ditch ROM Manager

Superuser Elite was not necessary however since you have it just keep it.

Read Andy's Guide you can skip the rooting part as you are already rooted. The rest should help you understand how to nandroid from recovery.

Read My A Flash For us all in my sig. Also Read OcnBrze if you still need more info for life after rooting. And always feel free to ask any question no matter how dumb it may be to you. We will not hesitate or harass you we will simply help
