Root Rom Manager - Failed Backup

i'm trying to use Rom Manager to backup my Vibrant for the first time. I'm running Stock Froyo.

I tell Rom Manager to flash the clockwork recovery, select Vibrant S and it "succeeds"

I then tell it to backup current ROM, and it has me confirm the name of the backup and then reboots. At reboot I get a few lines of yellow text that says Intalling Multi-CSC which seems to work.

It then just sits there. I assume I need to select "reinstall packages". i choose that and I get:

Install from sdcard
Finding update package
verifying update package
(all in yellow) followed by a progress bar that goes maybe a quarter of the way, and then in red

E: faile dto verify whole-file signature
E: Signature verification failed
Installation aborted.

I try the "reinstall packages" repeatedly with the same result. Rebooting into recovery also gets the same results.

Suggestions?
