Help ROM manager issues

I recently rooted my Droid X using z4root. Installed ROM manager to backup my current settings, but the backup doesn't seem to be working, it just reboots, with no sign of a backup file. I can't flash any previous versions of Clockwork either. It just gives me a download error. I have reinstalled ROM manager a few times, with the same issues. Anyone having these issues?
 
You do have nand unlocked, not just soft root, right? I'm not sure how z4root works (or the droid x, for that matter), but you need full root to use rom manager.
