Root ROM Manager

I downloaded this app to make a nandroid backup, looking into it further, you can partition your SD card from it, also download and install new ROMs.

Anyone used this before?

I know in SURoots guide, he doesn't recommend using this, mainly due to not understanding whats happening, however, some of the tech on here baffles me, so if this can do it for me like that, I would be happy to let it. My memory is low, so I am keen to move more apps to SD.

Also, I presume if you download your ROM of choice, this app will automatically do everything to avoid you 'flashing' it yourself?

Any help/info gratefully received...

Ok, thanks. Will re-read and do it manually...

Cheers.

:D

P.S... Do you never sleep??? :D

Nah, SUroot never sleeps... :D

I wholeheartedly support his argument NOT to use Rom Manager, seeing all the issues people have with it.

Does it have any uses?
On the Desire, not really - you can't even use it to prop up a wobbly table leg. :D

The only thing it does that you can't do from ClockworkMod recovery is partition the SD card (AmonRA recovery can do that too).

In the days before you could replace the HTC recovery with Clockwork/AmonRA then it would have been useful. But for us it's simply more reliable to do it manually from recovery.
