Root [ROM Mod] Spirit Rom - Xperia Mod

To install that, I can just simply flash it right? I don't need to do anything with the other set of gapps I already have downloaded, because it'll just write over it, correct?

If you already have downloaded and installed a set of gapps. They should work if they are for 4.4.x. I tested these and seem to work fine. I would not flash this set over another already installed. Might cause unexpected force closing and app crashing. They are best flashed right after flashing the rom.

Curtis, just wanted to say a quick "thanks" for your work on this. I recently switched back to my Awe after being gone from it for a few months and this rom is working great for me. Stable, light, and clean....

Added a few extras.

Xperia Home Launcher
Xperia Clock Widgets
Xperia Weather Widget

Install as regular apps. Not a flash ready zip. Must extract and install manually. If you like them they can be used as alternatives to nova launcher and the system app LockClock. If not you can keep nova and LockClock. Zip in original posting.

So I followed this thread and did a full wipe with the latest twrp and flashed the ROM. Afterwards, I moved the onetimeinitialization.apk into priv-app and rebooted into recovery to flash gapps (the one you linked above for KellyDraves). Then I booted up and played with some spirit settings, nothing major just lockscreen pattern. After some time, I'm getting a pretty constant "Unfortunately, google play services has stopped" pop-up message. Is there something I may have did wrong? Some apps wont work at all because this message keeps spamming up. Not sure what to do :/

Besides that this is an awesome ROM, many thanks to you for spending the time to make this for us!!

One more thing, I noticed in the play store, a lot of apps that I used in jellybean (Lawesome) now appear with the "Your Device is not compatible with this version" message. Is there anything I can do about that?

Not sure before I read your reply I did some googling which led me to fooling with the dpi (sooo stupid) and now I have to figure out how to reset that. I am an idiot.

Okay so I was able to pull the build.prop from the original zip of the ROM and push it with adb, going to update my Google Play to the latest and let you know how it goes

Running 5.6.8 Google Play and the problem still persists

edit: okay i think i've managed to solve the problem with the google play error, but I still can't download a lot of apps off the play store. Gives me the "Your Device isn't compatible wih this version" message. I guess I could sideload but I don't see how I could use them just fine on jellybean and not kitkat??

Wanted to post and let you all know I'm saying goodbye. Decided to buy the LG Tribute and mess around with it. As of now it has working from device root method, flashable from device twrp for recovery. Going to see if I can round up some people to get a good dump from the device and get a stock rom up. It does have a cm12 rom in beta. No working camera but i highly suspect I can resolve that with a modded open camera app. I have enjoyed my brief time here with you all and will keep in touch.

Virgin mobile ?

Yeah for virgin mobile. I have the root app, recovery and flashing tools on my sdcard waiting on the phone. Pretty much kingroot, recovery flashed via flashify.

And the price point cant be beat. On sale $49.99 via virgin website. The hydro vibe is only $39 with working root method but kyocera has a very tough locked boot loader...steered clear of that. The F3 is $39...screen to small...so I grabbed the tribute as a tinker toy.

Heck with working recovery stuff could be churned out very early until an established developer got the device. I'll be modding my system right off. Easily make flashable zips to share.

Got the tracking info. Should have it Wednesday. I'll let you guys know how stable this device is once I get to working with it.
