Root [ROM][MS870][LOKI] Samurai ROM

Totally effing awesome!! Just backed up everything gonna flash now. And once again my man thank you!
 
Is it giving you the hearts at the end of the title and where the ".z" in .zip is? That's the problem I was seeing in it. I just renamed it with the .zip and I was able to open it and see all the files. I didn't try to flash it, but that did the trick for me. I'll try flashing it tomorrow to make sure that it works. Meanwhile I just got through setting my phone back up and it's 3:40 I gotta get some sleep but I'll be back on in the morning. Nice job btw GT, loving it so far!
 
I like the new update. Only have one bug report. When I pull down the task tray thing from the top. Everything under it shifts up as the top bar slides away. This includes icons making it a bit weird to see them move. I assume it's because of re-drawing the icons as they now have however many pixels to move up as the notification tray slides away.

I wonder if this would cause graphical errors in games? (more testing needed)

There's no redraws... It's slimply sliding the top screen margin up or down shifting things as needed. No... It will not affect games or anything graphical. Nothing is changing in size, just moving up or down.

I made 100% xparent a while ago. Check the download section under MODs.

  • Partly ported Jelly Bean notification area.
  • Kit Kat styled lock screen.
  • Removed AM/PM from lock screen & made date font smaller.
  • Changed home/lock screen wallpapers to Kit Kat wallpapers.
  • Adjusted "battery low" popup font to white.
  • Changed settings menu icons from white to gradient blue.

GT Thank you again...installed this and loving it. Is it okay to install Freedom Kernel 1.674ghz Overclock
on top of this? What do you think?

Yes... You can install that kernel on any of the ROMs available for the Spirit. I will also be posting in a little while a non overclock battery saver kernel which will replace the one found here.

Edit:
The kernel that comes with Samurai is for battery saving while maintaining performance.
 
So this randomly happens to me wondering if it's the notifications or the status bar this is really scaring me and confusing me

LOl That's only happening to you. Like I said before, use another rom.

Ah ok, for a minute there I thought it was the actual phone's home keys. So wait there's a mod that has additional home keys, why might I ask would you need that?

It's like the nexus devices which have the keys on the actual touch screen. It looks silly on the spirit or any phone that has capacitive keys because you end up with 2 rows of keys and you loose the bottom portion of your screen. The mod looks better on a S3 or S4 since they have bigger screens and hardware home keys to offset the look.
 
Hey GT, do you have the link to the google now app that is in your ROM? the voice seemed to work for me on v2 but now on v3 it's not working. Is this the offline version or the online version?

I don't have the link anymore. I got it somewhere on XDA. Samurai v3 has the same Gnow as all ICS roms since there is only one version of Gnow for ICS in online and offline. I used online version since it has the most features which I've been using since Icy spirit rom.

Voice talk back stopped working for everyone after certain google updates, not just you. For me it stopped before I even made Samurai and was still on katana. Voice talk back will never work again on ICS.

well that stinks. oh well. I'm getting the nexus 5 soon. I'll have to wait till than.
 
The only way Google now will work on our spirit is to flash cm10 and that's not so much fully functional..... so there's that.
 
Just like to note that Google now does work on all spirit roms. It just doesn't talk back. I tried CM10 last night and it was the same result for me. PG also said it's not talking back to him either.

The only fix I was able to find was for the official google now. And yes official versions of google now have had talk back issues in some cases, not all.

I'm pretty sure that on JB4.2/4.3 and KK4.4 it should work just fine. When I recieve my JB4.3 update that's the first thing I'm checking lol.
