Root [ROM] Number Two (#2) v3.0.1 {ZVE}

*Check this out guys...

So i have two other friends of mine on #2 roms, one with 1.9.2 and one on 1.9.1
the batt life is noticeably better on 1.9.1

well they tell me the batt life SUCKS... i say oh well u wanted a rooted phone right, anyways going through stuff online i saw the cnet review on the esteem and watched the video.they say its a great phone blah blah and then she goes, only downside is the batt life. 3hrs(tops) of talk time not including data... so thats right there tells you its a batt hog right out the box....

So on that note, we should take that in consideration with custom Roms we running. Soooo we shoulndt always necessarily say that roms sux cuz that batt life...plus some of us OC and tweak it out...so more battt drainnnnn....haha

So the ppl who are getting good/great batt life...more power 2 ya, and its more likely u guys the ones on the conservative side when it comes to saving battery, and the power junkies just crank it up stream sh*t allday and keep a charger everywhere you go :)

Ps, this is more for the ppl who expect the "devs" to create miracles lmffao !;)

BTW im on 1.9.1 stock :hmmmm: and it NOT so bad......lol

Actually you get about 4.5 hours of talk time total. Least I do anyways and that from 100% then connecting the charge around 5%

I just wanted to expand on the previous two posts as they are actually really good. Phones are for the most part released with a balance of performance and battery life in consideration to the hardware (battery processor etc). Granted sometime some mods can be added to improve both. But when modding thats sometimes the price you pay. Battery vs performance. So the more performance is added the harder the phone has to work which the more power it takes from the battery. If it helps think of it like a car. The more pedal you give it the harder the engine works and the more gas is needed which equals lower mpg. Another thing to consider kind of like what "SHINEY" was saying is the care of the battery. Luckily LiON batterys are pretty tough and dont require as much care but it DOES make a difference how low you let the battery get. How often you use it. And weither or not you regularly let battery completely drained. These WILL impact your battery life too. To say the battery life is bad on 1.9.2 is an overstatement I think. Maybe its not as good as other versions but its not bad in my experience with it. Although I havent really been on it that long it still seems ok to me.

nicely said ;)

but ya personally i was ok with the batt life on 1.9.2 but honestly i had another kernel on it plus it started having some issues like Ldrifta had mentioned he had his phone flying but the screen couldnt keep up...stuff like that, so thats why i went down a version... but like u say ''droidwhisper'' that some versions may be better than others on batt life, but like allot of the OG's say around here... everyone just has to test things out and see what works best with "'UR" phone... but do a back up first lol :)

"SHINEY"? Really?! What the hell I just need to change my name to ShineySide so ever one spells it correctly :D ;)

LMAO!!! Sorry I just had to mess with ya there a little bit. Ah I wouldnt worry about it though, if you change it to shineyside then ppl will just start calling you shiny! :p;)

Updated my 910 to zvd from zcv yesterday and didn't remove my ext sd card,(duh) was rooted and debloated with zvc/zcd root. Downloaded rom 2 to ext sd card, rebooted, backed up,rebooted, had to hold vol up/down, on/off buttons to clear data..phone went back to stock, rebooted again and I get the dreaded explanation mark triangle. before it gives me the triangle, the android guy comes up with a little open folder for about 2 seconds before it goes to the triangle/explanation mark. Any idea how to reboot into recovery? Am I not pressing a button before the android folder closes? Phone still works, even got address book back...

Thanks...

titan backup, root browser, root checker, rom toolbox lite, rom manager, quick boot, superuser are installed

I see that his phone is staying awake when the screen is off a good portion of the time. Mine is doing the same thing and u can't sort out what is doing it. Is anybody else's phone doing this Regularly.

yeah there's a few reasons for that happenning.. one of the strangest ways i found to fix that issue is letting the screen turn itself off instead of pressing power button to turn screen off, after some research i found out this is an issue with a lot of devices.. something to do with 'wake-locks' so if you guys can force yourself to try and remember to let the screen shut itself off i garuntee you'll notice a big change with the 'awake while screen off' issue lol

well, unless you have crazy app's installed and unning things in background ie: syncing, playing music, had an alarm set for that time etc... lol nothing i can do about 'that' ;)

Running t2 it just feels right I like it so far will test it but for the past hour no issues feels like previous stable versions excellent so far sir this thing is snappi it flies

1.9.1 is the most responsive rom I've used, and I've tried them all extensively. I used my phone pretty hard and I still get about 6-8 hours out of it, 10-13 hours moderate use including playing Max Payne and Need for Speed. Also take into account I'm using plague zvd kernel.

power amp will not install on the newest room after I did fresh install of all my apps i get stuck i booting mode after faied installation of poweramp.

After installing Test 2 from 1.9.2 on my phone and all it does is show the boot screen when it turns on (no reboot, just the boot screen animation). Has this happened to anyone else?

I will try Test 1 instead as soon as I restore 1.9.2. Hopefully it will have better results
