I cant stand swype either...there are several other keyboards in the market that i would suggest trying. My favorite is actually the android keyboard from android 2.. just search in the market and find one that suites you best. alot are free which is a plus.
let us know which one you settle with..i know im interested.
 
Cannot swipe with swype? It says something about an invalid license. How to fix this ? ... oh and another thing , i've noticed that when you press the menu button while on certain apps , it instantly makes everything in the status bar a bit brighter ...just putting my two cents in...great team, great rom by the way
 
QUICK QUESTION : When I dial *228 to Update my Roaming list. The Operator voice says "Welcome to Verizon " ... uhhhhh what?!?!?! And when I choose option to update it says " sorry blah blah blah.... we can't right now! " lolz. Tad bit weird. Just wondering.

I have the exact same problem. I followed all the steps, except the only difference was that I have CWM 5.0.2.7 and not 5.0.2.8.
Did you ever get it fixed?

flash reqs cwm and kernel package that has ext4 support. then wipe format and flash. :)

and sorry I'm a noob but when it says to "Flash my CWM Recovery and Kernel package," does that mean to do "install zip from sdcard" ?

At this point I guess I would need to use adb to transfer the CM72RC1-Beta1-KernelCWM-requisite0.zip file to my phone :(

If anyone wants to know, here's the adb command I used to get the zip to my phone's sdcard:
adb push C:\Users\xxx\Downloads\CM72RC1-Beta1-KernelCWM-requisite0.zip /sdcard/

It seems I am having a problem now with this ROM with the Play store and installing updates. When I go to the Play store, there are 4 automatic updates available (Google Search, StreetView, Superuser, Voice Search) and 1 manual update (Titanium Backup). When I select to update any of them, it errors out almost immediately.
I get Error: Update for "<app>" could not be downloaded due to an error. (492)
What's up with that?

Thats because the signatures don't match those of the original app. It won't update unless you uninstall and reinstall app. But you lose the themed icon and any png changes in said application.

Ah that's why the Superuser icon looked different...

Also, I shot myself in the foot because I made my NANDROID backup when I had 5.0.2.7 installed. I just wiped everything and tried to restore my NANDROID backup but I ran into problems because it was still on rfs file system and not ext4 :mad::(

I will have to fix my phone when I get home from work today...

After I flashed this ROM, I tried to use Titanium Backup to do the "restore missing apps with data" but it would not restore all the apps. It prompted me to install some of them, but not all.
When I go into Backup/Restore, the apps' names are crossed out but have a check mark on the right side. When I select one, the only option not greyed out is to Delete.

Have any idea why?

If anyone wants to know, I found that you can see all the apps you've ever installed in the Google Play store by going to My Apps -> swipe left to the "All" list. I then re-downloaded and installed all my missing apps.

make sure you are on a home tower. change the network to metro only in settings. reboot and try again. check your prl number ..the newest is 3029 I think. if its less than that then yes update. if its not then no need to update. just sounds like you had a weak signal from metro and jumped to a Verizon tower..I've done that before. sorry..didn't see your post. my bad. :)

Gotcha. Sorry I've herd Sprints Rep b4 and it going thru with the update but not Verizon. Preciate it bud.
 
OMG!! Ive been waiting forever for something like this this and i can't use it.
It freezes every 20 minutes or less even if i dnt touch anything.
