Root [ROM] PACE 4.3: Pure Android, CAF/CM Enhanced

I vote for advanced power menu and quick toggle buttons in the pull down menu. Maybe built in wifi tether if that's easily do able.

Wifi Tether is built in as part of the base android code... However, mine never fully activates on this build.

I am so spoiled by your PAC ROM, I want all of those goodies in this one!

By all means, use PAC then. I don't mind really. Different folks like different things.

Me, I like the pure android experience plus a few enhancements that I've seen in AOKP. So that's what I'm building here.

As do I - I really like the pure android experience.

I haven't voted for any enhancements, because I really don't know what to ask for. Stock seems ok for me. Any extras will be icing on the cake.

Volume wake is very handy if you can add this it would be nice. Save the power button some wear and tear. Netflix works great with Beta2 by the way. Thanks again.

Has anyone tested Bluetooth and audio streaming? Is there any reason to believe it would be working as opposed to CM's disconnects until reboot?

Got this going on my find5 today and started poking at enhancements. Tried to run it for the evening and found I can't live without the swipey keyboard lol. So that's gong to be high priority in the plus version.

Also... anyone good with animations? I need a nice boot animation for pace plus.

Don't get me wrong, having AOSP on our device is great, and I am using it as my DD. I just wanted you to gently (very very gently!) remind you to work on 4.3 PAC as well!

Ah well... you need to go poke neph about that. I can't submit vs920 for cm10.2 until the data works, and PAC builds from cm device trees.

CM10.2 will work with data if you dirty flash over CM10.1, but back on point of this thread: PACE 4.3 is my DD as well and very stable. Well done, TDM

Got the swipey keyboard figured out, did the bootanim (need to resize it, but it works), incorporated supersu, VerizonSSO, and custom dpi support (but no gui setting yet). Working on install persistence, theme support, and other things right now. I'll try to get something out to play with by tomorrow evening...

Are features like center clock and small am/pm and date too intrusive??

Probably won't do center clock because I think it complicated the layout code quite a bit. I'll need to check on the other things.

My goal is to avoid changes that will be difficult to merge into future releases, especially since kitkat is rumored to be only a couple weeks away.

Isn't center clock something that can be hacked in with the xposed framework user side?

You're right, I forgot about that module. It also adds power button reboot menu and many other options. Thanks for the reminder!

No problem. Here's a link to the thread [Mod] Xposed Framework for Android 4.3 - xda-developers

It's been updated to work with 4.3, though keep in mind... If you're using a mod like this, your bug/error reports may be less helpful as your introducing a slew of variables of what may be causing any issues you experience.

That said, I simply wanted to provide the info and link. To keep the discussion on topic, lets go ahead and shift off talk of xposed and get back on track ;)

Came from stock ZV8, ran pwnage tool to root and installed CWM. Did a factory reset from CWM and then installed PACE beta2 and Gapps. This is working great! LTE was available on first boot after installing. Pure Android is so refreshing compared to the bloated VZW version!

ERI name shows "Verizon Wireless" while on their network and "T-CDMA EXT 66" while on Extended Network... not a big deal at all.

On beta2, the cap touch buttons do not light up, and I couldn't find a way in the system settings to enable them, likely because pure Android doesn't support those LEDs. Can this be added to the enhanced version? Or perhaps being able to use them for notification as well?

I'm going to try out Bluetooth audio streaming to my car tonight, as this worked very well on ZV8 stock version.

BadgerRed: I didn't notice the button lights until you mentioned it, I'lll look into that and the ERI text.

Not sure if I'll get the plus version out today. It's taken much longer than I thought to get the theme engine going. The merge from CM was difficult, and then I ran into an SELinux issue (which is annoying because SELinux isn't even really running in any meaningful way in AOSP). Then a permissions issue, which I think was related to SELinux -- at least I hope so. I *think* it's working now but I need to do a clean wipe and test before I know for sure.

The buttons light up correctly under your CM10.2 build. Perhaps you need to replace the led lib with the one that you're using there.
