Root [ROM]Party Time JB 3.0.X

Thanks for this rom! Looking forward to new updates. This Rom Seems solid. Had to flash a new rom because the stock is all buggy and Recently started restarting constantly. Even after using tools to remove most of the shitware that came with the stock, i had no where near the free space i have with this rom, even after installing my apps. GOOD WORK SIR. I was seriously about to smash this phone, Just so i had an excuse to get a new one. :smokingsomb:

Well...

Been running this rom for about a week, now; No Frills set @ 1513/245, interactive, row.

Had 1 screen lock-up until yesterday. Between then & now, I've had 3...but that could be because yesterday and today, I've introduced new apps and settings.

I downloaded the wallpapers and tried a few apps that were pulled from Kit Kat 4.4 on the AF home page articles pertaining to the Nexus 5.
Only care for 1 of the wallpapers, and the apps that I installed (attempted) were the calculator.apk; QuickOffice.apk and DeskClock.apk.
Of those three, only the Quick Office installed. The others gave a parsing error, so I decided not to tempt fate.

Q.O. seems to work nicely.

I also downloaded the new Google launcher (Googlehome.apk; Velvet.apk and PrebuiltGmsCore.apk.) and installed them. So far, those three are working well.

Changed the lockscreen, homescreen and bootup audio to a Rush 2112 theme (studio ver. of 2112 Overture...15 seconds, approx.).

All in all, the more I customize it, the more I like it....

Peace,
Sox

Hey Sox

Fist off, congrats on your Sox winning it all. As a Yankees fan it pains me but I'll survive.I guess its time to change your av.
Now... I too installed the 4.4 Launcher and am liking it. My question to you is, have you gotten the hotword detection to work? Google Now worked right off the bat but I still haven't gotten hotword detection working.

Nononono......White Sox, WHITE SOX!!! Check the avatar, please.
I have NOT attempted that as of yet, matter of factually... But I've seen that to get to work, I believe that Google Voice has to be uninstalled & RE-installed... But please don't quote me on that.
I'm gonna have to go back to the article on the home page and look at the comments; 'cuz that's where I saw what I think I saw. I also think that the hotword command becomes just "Google", instead of "OK Google"...but again; no promises or guarantees.

Otherwise I'm not having any issues.

Peace,
Sox

Wow how could I not notice the now obvious White Sox logo??? At least your coolness factor just jumped about a hundred points now that I know you're not cheering for the boys from Boston. :)

I tried updating the U.S. Language Pack under Settings>Voice and had no luck with "OK Google" and just "Google". I guess I'll check around to see if there's a trick or a fix to get it working. I can see hotword detection being pretty useful at work while the phone charges on my desk. Its a shame detection won't work while the phone sleeps like the Moto X but I'll take what I can get.

Yeah, I'd keep searching the contents that go with the launchers' article, because I'm POSITIVE I saw something in it....

Peace,
Sox

Edit: Make no mistake, though... I'm thrilled as hell that Jakey P got himself a ring!!

Sorry, late to the party, literally. I am using your partytime 2.5, very happy with it. Surely, the 3.0.3 is going to be faster. Some newbie question:

1) Does this 3.0.3 automatically has the MiRage 6.6 included? Or I have to do it separately? Is so, how to install a kernal? I am now running Kernel 3.0.31-g58f93f5-dirty and Party TIME jb (2.5)

2) I kept getting the Samsung RUSH update everyday. What is that, and should I bother to update? I worry the update will lose my root, which I remember is NOT easy to do with the Samsung Reverb.

Thanks for your hard work.

Includes kernel, includes root, includes update

There will be some late comers like myself, I will drop down a few lines just in case I have to do this again. I start out with CWM 6.0.2.3, PartyTime 2.5 and original kernel,

1) download CWM 6.0.3.6 from here, download the .zip file, it is easier. The .tar requires the use of a computer.
2) download PartyTime 3.0.3 from OP.
3) Boot into recovery by Vol up + power, let go when yellow triangle appears.
4) use vol up/down for navigation and power button for selection
5) Make sure your phone battery is at least 50% charged.
6) install zip > choose zip from sdcard (or choose zip from external sdcard)
7) find your CWM 6.0.3.6 and flash. You done upgrading the CWM
8) Reboot, you should now boot into CWM 6.0.3.6
9) Repeat steps 5) - 7) to upgrade to PartyTime 3.0.3; if you like to read instructions, you can go here.
10) Reboot, 1st time reboot takes a bit time, be patient; I always reboot 1 more time before I use it.

Enjoy, dont forget to thank/like superboy4444; this is the best ROM for SSReverb

Just got an update notification, it's saying it's for the Rush again, anyone else getting this latest update? I tried to install it, but it failed, probably because I've removed system apps.

Yep... I got it as well. I just went ahead and hit install; the last one hiccupped, the screen went black and it rebooted... And that's what this one did.
Has anyone TT Samsung on this?

Also you guys messing with the nexus 5 apps, Google now won't work right because it's more too it than just the apk, there's lib files bin files etc files and you would need to replace the GoogleTTS.apk as well

You can also go to etc/security and rename otacerts.zip to otacerts.zip.bak, and that stops it from checking for updates, correct?

EDIT: Sorry I clicked the wrong reply button. :/

The problem is that it is updated already but some of the files are incorrect so it says there is an update...so you can do that or you can rename everything in the build prop that says md6 to m12 as well as anything the csc folder that says md6 to m12. That is a more permanent/reliable solution

All this praise is making me ready to try once more to get JB on my freeze-prone phone. Looks like a great build here and I'm not seeing many complaints about the freezing persisting.

I'd like to save a back up of the ROM and my apps exactly as it is setup now. This I've never done, all I would need is CWM Rom Manager Premium, correct?

Just need the clockwork mod recovery and then you can backup through that...however, ROM manager is pretty nifty and that's what I use...but you need the recovery first!
