Root [ROM] [port] MIUI v4.1 (10-21-12)

This is a little update for MIUI V4.1 THIS IS NOT A DAILY DRIVER yet, this rom still has some issues that need to be fixed...remember that if the base rom (cm10) has issues with something, then this rom will have them too...so if you already used cm10 before, then you already know what's working & what isn't ;)

Instructions
-backup your current rom
-wipe data
-wipe cache
-wipe dalvik cache
-flash miuiv4.1 rom
-wait for it to boot


Issues.:
- superuser ==fixed thanks to legmando33==
- sdcard seems not to be mounted (u can see ur files only if you download a file manager from play store)
- some apps FC a lot

I hope you guys could help me with this, it would be nice if everyone help :) ... PM me if you have any suggestions or comment in here

*Remember to go to LBE guard app to enable root permissions *

I must try this. I thought I'd never see this for my phone. Good job, I'll flash it as soon as I can get home this weekend :)

And if I remember correctly from my past miui experiences, miui not only has a custom superuser app, but also a custom su. Does the problem still exist if you give it the standard superuser app and binary?

And for the fun of it, I'll take a wild guess at the sd card problem. Third party file explorers are usually self dependant. Miui's doesn't work without miui and the music player doesn't work outside the rom either. So, my totally vague guess is that the permissions for something is screwed up (no read access?) I assume the system thinks there is a sd card, otherwise the third party apps won't work. I'm only a simple beta tester, I know little about the inner workings of android.

It is nice to see someone get involved and try to do something...hopefully it becomes a trend....
 
I've been waiting for someone to port over MIUI to the Design. I don't know much about the inter workings of roms, but I can leave a detailed list about whats working, and whats not...
 
ok made this account just to share findins. settings forecloses consrantly, messages two times since using. everything else is ok. as for root this is how i got it to work. i tried posting the file its my first post dont know if it will allow me.but its a zip i found doing research its called miui security v2 its over on xda. sorry i cant be more helpful right now. btw you have to go to security center folder choose lbe guard and root permission needs to be activated there.

when you flash the new update remember to enable LBE Guard to get root permission ...if people keep getting some problems with superuser you can flash the miui security v2.zip....
 
Downloading now. Thanks for the hard work I like miui think it's highly underrated. I can live with the issues changed to a backup just cause I listen to music at work so the sd issue still playing to see how it's fixable. Other than that it's great. Love the sms app for miui the popup is awesome. Glad people are working on this device

try to download a different music player...maybe that could help...i havent try that...please try and see if a different music player could read your music...(ex:google play music)
 
I took a few logcats, they may be of use to you. The dated one is from boot till I could open the app and save the logcat. One is from me spamming an app that is meant to start the media scanner. The other two are from me trying to open the miui file manager and a 3rd party file manager.

I did notice that the notification bar only says its scanning when first booted. Not even if I remove the SD card and replace it.

Man all these miui ports, Not sure if this is the same one that I got asked to look at and fix a few issues right off. But if not this is the 3rd miui port that I know of.
