You're having a "Screen Tearing" problem. Happens with some devices.

My recommendation is this.

Flash Calkulin's newest rom, [ ROM ][ 11-23 ] Calkulin's EViO 2 ROM v1.6.2 [ FroYo l FRG83 l OC l UV l Themeable ] - xda-developers

Start with the first, stock kernel. If that fails, try flashing kernels, until you've tried at least 6-7. (Helpful if you use diff varieties, don't use 7 versions of Toast's CFS, use many different ones, w/ and w/o HAVS, BFS and CFS) Good luck.

Netarchy makes great kernels: [GPL][Kernel]netarchy-toastmod, Stable: 4.1.9.1 Beta: 4.2.1 - xda-developers

FULL ROM LIST: HTC Supersonic/ROMs - XDA-Developers

BTW, what roms have you tried?

cm6,miui,myn2.2, and just the kernel that is with each rom, stock rom and kernel works just fine. thanks for any help sorry for like of info.

alternative HTC Kernel: [KERNEL] v2.6.32.17-gee557fd htc-kernel@and18-2 #15 - xda-developers

New Sense based kernel: [KERNEL][WIP][SENSE] - Superior Battery Charging - xda-developers

Zendroid Kernel: [KERNEL][AOSP][2.6.35.9] ZenDroid 0.91-BETA (BFS+CFS) - xda-developers

And another: [KERNEL] Undervolt driver for the stock HTC kernel for EVO 4G and others (2.6.32.15) - xda-developers

These are just a couple, check out the Evo development thread on XDA, read, read, read. BTW, you said above you've only tried the kernels with the roms. You need to try applying some alternative kernels after the rom you choose, see if it changes anything.

Additionally, after installing the rom, another recovery boot, wiping cache and dalvik cache wouldn't hurt either.

do i flash the rom then flash the alt kernel what are the steps to flashing kernels i have not done one yet. ps thanks alot for your help.
