Root [ROM] Quattrimus JB (CM10, AOKP41)

This unfortunately didn't help any here. I had USB mass storage working in Beta3 & 4 but it's broken in Beta5. The phone will charge on USB but that's about it, neither it nor windows appear to see each other.

BTW I'm new here and would really like to thank all the devs involved in this!

After playing around some more it looks like I just needed to reboot my pc. I moved the usb cable to a port on the back and it worked there and after rebooting it worked from the front usb ports again.

However, my phone has now rebooted twice after turning off mass storage mode and unplugging the cable.

If it helps, here is the last_kmsg from one of those reboots:

I just flashed aokp beta 5 and now that roaming indicator is back on the signal. Anyone know why? Or has anyone else had this happen? Internet works fine I just would like to have the normal icon back

I couldn't download anything, I was showing 4g and had wifi and when I would try to install an app, it would just hang there and do nothing.

Just an fyi, there are FAR more features in 4.2 that aren't listed there and aren't simply flashed into the rom. Those are just add on features, not the framework changes, which, Imo are the best part. Hell, the lock screen alone is worth the upgrade, but you can't flash that new lock screen like you can a clock, as that link has.

The main feature change is a split notification drop down, which is rad. I'm running 4.2 (slimrom) on my transformer.

Yes every time I try modding anything in my ROM it always breaks camera, what I'm thinking is using stock ICS camera from lg and edit the build prop to make it work and see if that breaks or not
 
What is AOKP 41? Is it the android 4.2 I been hearing about?

Also Im still using Reeseboys barebones V6 rom, is there much improvements here than there?
 
I see I see.. This is still very good though, I would like to say it is almost kin to a nice ice cream cone on a warm summer day.

I don't know much about slimrom but I do know that it's not available for the spectrum. You're best bet for a new rom would be to flash cyanogenmod10 or aokp41.
 
Any one else have issues with Wifi killing there battery fast? If I just turn on 3g my phone battery last all day NP and then some. If i turn on Wifi it kills it really fast.. Was fine with 4g and wifi on with my stock Rom.

Is it set to on all the time in the settings? Go into wifi > advanced and see what it says under keep wi-fi on during sleep.

Go to slimrom.net (or com.. I don't remember). It's mainly on the most popular devices and I've got it for the transformer pad. It could probably be compiled for the spectrum (ports aren't allowed).

Wifi won't kill the battery... It actually kills it more to connect and disconnect.

What's killing the battery are the apps you allow to connect while the phone is asleep. Case in point, clock sync allows auto updating, but it will do it even if the screen is off, unless you select 'only while awake'. With the constant connection, apps will try to use it... You have to REALLY micromanage your apps or use an app like juice defender to do it.

Fwiw, I can go 36 hours on a wifi only connection with moderate to high use. I also use juice defender to micromanage the shit outta my device. :)
 
I flashed the 4.1 to 4.2 mod, like they say the camera fc's but I have hdr camera+ , it takes pics and saves them just fine...food for thought
 
Just out of curiosity how is the progress going on the aosp ROM? I really love android but I'm a vlogger so I need the front facing camera to do what it can
