Root [ROM] Quattrimus JB (CM10, AOKP41)

currently running cm10 on my work spectrum and aokp41 w/extended battery on my personal spectrum.

both are fantastic to use now. i dont use gps either so its all good.

oh ya....vzw screwed up and sent me 2 replacement phones.....been keeping one on the dl for sometime time now. not on any of their records sending 2 to me ;)

Nice. I'm jealous. I'm (*edit*) getting a gnex to use as my daily driver phone. Mostly just so I can have something else to mess around with since I had to sell my N7.

Don't worry, I'm not abandoning the Spec. It will be my phone for gaming/entertaining my children.

So to throw another item into the mix... What version of BlueZ is being implemented in CM10? I know that JB is supposed to have the version that at least has AVRCP 1.3, however, I know you guys had to play with stuff to get bluetooth working. What version are we at and is there a possibility of compiling the newer version if we stand at an older one? Also TDM, I need to donate, so per your comment, is there a preferred place to donate to or is EFF your choice place? This works better because I feel I need to donate to all the devs involved, but uhhh, that money dispersed amongst all may cost the internet more to transfer than what you'd actually be getting.

Yeah, saw it in the store the other day and I just couldn't get that display out of my head. I thought the Spec had an awesome display but DAMN is this thing clear. My girlfriend has an upgrade coming soon but she's happy with her GS3 she got for her birthday, so i'm gonna take it and grab the DNA.

Probably gonna hold onto the Spec just because I can't wait to see what all the devs come out with in the coming months, and I can't wait to test your kernel when it's ready for release.

I got the framework issue sorted out and now I'm debugging the RIL.

But I found something interesting...

I installed aosp41 and poked around a bit, then went to restore my backup of aokp41. But I accidentally hit backup instead of restore. And I noticed that the directory was named with the correct date/time. Previously, on both my nitro and spectrum, the date was wacky (1970 I think). I wonder what happened to fix that...?

I didn't touch bluez from the defaults, so it's whatever is in the respective project branches. Looks like 4.93 for both CM10 and AOKP41, and I see this in the git log:

commit 071b44a3959b839541f86d945c65c356fc46c9d4

Merge "Bluetooth: AVRCP 1.3 features changes (1/2)" into jellybean

Yes, EFF is a great place to donate.

You can donate to LeslieAnn who has graciously provided both a build server and free hosting. link.

You can donate to goo.im who has provided the entire Android community with gapps and free dev hosting. Go there for a donate link, I don't have one handy.

Thanks!

Hey TDM,

I've noticed that I'm not getting the Verizon signal booster service at work anymore on CM10. I would usually see the booster icon on stock ICS but it isn't present on CM10. Any idea how I can get this feature on CM10?

Thanks!

That's a question for Neph or d2a. I have never had a VZW account nor really used the stock ROM at all.

So 1.3 is in it then. Must be my stereo, even though it states AVRCP 1.3, does not actually utilize it. Either that or no built-in music player provides metadata? I'll try Xiia out on my drive home.

For those wanting AOSP and brave enough to be a guinea pig...

quattrimus-iproj-aosp41-test.zip

This boots on my Nitro. I haven't installed this on a Spectrum so let me know how it works.

Known issues:
* Front camera doesn't work. If you select it, wipe gallery data to get the camera app back.

AOSP running smoothly. was very laggy and roaming at first. but after a few min it seems to have smoothed out and was on 4g. front camera issue as stated.

now I am at 1x

Edit
switched network mode to LTE/CMMA and now have 3g. no 4g yet

Thanks. Let me know how 4G works out vs. CM10/AOKP41. I may need to do some more work on that.

FYI, I posted beta5 on getquattrimus.com. I don't have time to do a full mirror and update yet, hopefully by Monday. But if you're looking for a new ROM to flash, give it a try.

Changes off the top of my head:
* Hopefully fixed bluetooth crash.
* More kernel debugging.
* kmsg script.
* SU640 support added.

Thanks for this tdm! Maybe a suggestion - GPS could be medium priority. I don't know which post I read, but I downloaded GPS Status from Play Store and it got my GPS to work. The first few times it did take a while, but it does work for me at least.

Just a quick confirmation: This has worked for me as well. I'm coming from flashing the official V6 via cab, then to a couple GB roms before trying CM10 (so no OTA ICS).

At first, GPS could not get a fix but having read aragorn's post, I downloaded/installed GPS Status, let it run (took a while) & it got a fix. Google maps was able to find my location.

I rebooted & started up Maps again & it found my location much more quickly.

Hope that helps. Thanks to all the dev's & the Spec community!

I need the link for beta5 apps was nice, didn't see any bugs, loads and runs. Do use the same gapps? Would prefer a link for beta5, please.

"My" bluetooth crash? Awesome! ;)

PS: Does b5 have your last kmesg script built in or do I need to reload that?

Aosp works great.I've got 4g and no issues,but it looks like GPS isn't working...I didn't have it engaged before I flashed,though.

Anyone know the cwm button combo? I didn't flash gapps and can't reboot into recovery.

I answered in the other thread where you asked. Also, just wanted to say thanks again to the devs who make all this awesomeness possible.
