Going to give this one a try. The carbon site basically says its an AOSP based ROM with extra goodies. Along the same lines as slimkat. Thanks a lot for these Roms. You're a machine phenom, good work.

Running this for an hour now. Is there any way you could provide us with a stock cm kernel for this because for some reason my second core gets fully clocked at boot and I Dont understand why. It also happened the the 7/2 cm release to me. Also thank u for so many ROMs for this phone

I've also encounters this, and that the performance settings don't seem to set things properly. Obviously there's going to be bugs, as this is newly released stuff. Thank you very much phenom :) and everyone else involved..... Right now this is way too much for my brain to handle, so I switched back to Awe Inspired, lol....... However a few things I did notice (bug wise) like I said the kernel performance settings and the system UI not resetting properly when changing the recent apps switcher thing. Also OmniSwitch didn't seem to work. Also with the kernel settings when I would hit the apply check mark, it would knock the maximum speed all the way down to 160mhz and minimum would stay at 380mhz or whatever it is.

[Edit] Sorry should've placed this under the PacRom thread as that's the one I'm referring to, but I was responding in relation to above poster.

Mind blown! I don't even know what to do with myself anymore, and I still have 3 more to download and try out. O_o After I noticed Carbon in settings, and started poking around in there...something akin to a nuke went off somewhere between my ears. This is absolute magic. I can't wait to test this out on an everyday basis, and I'm especially excited to see what future updates will bring.

Carbon ROM and kernel seems to operate great with TricksterMod as Kernel control, don't know what device tunables are under settings, but doesn't work for me. One question about the kernel for phenomX4, just looking at the different frequency "jumps" each one is within about 100mhz of each other, except for 270 to 486. Should there be a 3xxMhz in there for smooth scaling?
Also, even with Trickster Mod the second core still jumps up to Max clock. Just trying to report things. Super grateful for all your hard work.

[Edit] after reboot, seems like second core is acting accordingly

I may have found a fix for the second core. The only side effect I can see is that it'll never go offline but it will go to the lowest frequency when isn't being used.

Good day, I have the i9300, I am using the CarbonRomm 4.4.4. With the original stock rom, when drinving along and using my hands free device, when I press the button on the BT device, voice dialer launches and says "say call ..." then I say call etc and it all works well. With carbonrom I press the button voice dialer launches and no voice asking me to say call etc.. even if I try saying call x it does not work. Really important feature so I don't have to use google now and use up data. Any advice on how to get this working?

Thanks

Anyone know how I can re-enable UMS for Carbon ROM? There is no line for "ro.config.allow_UMS=" and adding it with a value of "true" won't work either. All I can find about it is that at some point it was removed from Carbon not too long ago, though I can't really find a reason. Would it break something?

Anyone aware of any DSP or equalizer that will work with this ROM or any 4.4.4 as of right now. The built in DSP isn't working for me and I've already tried Viper4android and noozxoid

I am using pure audio 2.0 right now. I froze DSP manager before flashing it. I notice a difference but unfortunately they make it to where you have to use smart player paid version for access to the eq. It works good by itself for me and I just use power amp's eq.

I keep getting fc on the key board any ideas can't get different key board cause I need to sighn in to Google play which I can't cause of fc

I was getting force closes on some apps also.I uninstalled them with titanium and reinstalled them from the play store and no more problems. As far as the keyboard I would install the free version of swift key and stay with it or if you really like the stock keyboard uninstall it and reinstall it as long as you install a different one first. I am on carbon ROM now and using the stock keyboard to write this and no force closes. I haven't got around to installing swift key yet but will soon

My bad I didn't read it all I guess. Download another keyboard apk file and transfer it to your SD and then install it and make it default.

If it's crashing a lot you should reflash it after doing a factory reset. To have less apps use the gapps minimal. I get the one that also has Google search. Carbon is nice but I liked pac rom better as it combines them all. I have been using slimkat mostly lately to see if I go back to pac rom if it seems slower. All the new Roman that phenomx4 has put out lately have been more stable for me than stock lol

What apps can i remove from this rom that arent essential or make it crash?

I'll get some more charge on my phone, then flash Carbon, severely debloat it, then post a list if you'd like. I'll do it pretty soon. I've nothing better to do today but break things anyways. :D
