Root [ROM][RC][4.4.4] SlimKat 12/22/2014

By all it's both CyanogenMod and SlimKat. I'm not a rom-jumper and I've settled on SlimKat b/c it has working App2SD. I posted a log on this a while ago - IIRC Candy Crush screams about not enough memory, but there should be. :) Probably nothing you can do, but it was fine with stock. But, this is so much better than stock, just taking 10x to try to get CC started is worthwhile.

Does this only occur on this rom or all of them?

Apps2sd never worked for me on slimkat. How did you get it to worked?

It just works. Memory for apps gets split between my SD Card and internal memory. I use AppMgr III. That takes me to App Settings, where I'm able to hit the "Move to SD Card" button. That button is disabled in the other (at least Cyanogenmod) ROMs.

I look at the memory usage before and after and the memory certainly is being split amongst locations. It's not perfect, and I try to only use it for non-critical (no PII) apps. Also, I notice that icons on the desktop need to be replaced since they seem to disappear after being moved.

By chance is there an updated oc kernel that includes the Bluetooth fix for the HID issue I mentioned before? Upon flashing the original one available the issue returns and I'm no longer able to connect to hid

That's odd, as I've been unable to utilize App2SD. Are you running the most recent version of the Rom?

Out of curiosity, were you able to utilize App2SD on the CM11 4.4.4 rom, as well? I receive insufficient storage errors on both of these, though inspection of the internal and external SD shows adequate space available. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the emulated SD card configuration, but don't want to clutter up the developer thread with too many bonehead questions.

Yep. Latest SlimKat. My installation is pretty stable now, too, I don't install or uninstall anything really.

No, in fact that's why I switched to SlimKat. I was using CM11 for an older version and it worked, but then for 4.4.4 it didn't. I noticed that PhenomX noted that he ported the App2SD from SlimKat to the older CM11 release. I subsequently mentioned there might've been a regression in one of my comments. So, for 4.4.4, I just installed SlimKat and it worked.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I will mess around with some things and see what I can figure out. Ideally, I would prefer to run CM11, for it's customization options, usability, stability, and elegance--and, it's what I've run on my last three phones, so there is the familiarity factor, also.

So, I think this is a better link to download Gapps (the one provided prompts me to log in):

And this details the differences between Slim / Normal / Full:

App2sd works for some apps but others install to the internal emulated drive. Is there any way to link or move them to the external. It sucks having most of my data eaten up by one games data.
