I know the problem started with hangouts then I tries textra to see of that would work and nope. So then I tried GoSMSpro like you suggested. I got the MMS message, but it wanted me to d/l the file separately and then it just never would work. So then I tried to manually configure and that solved it.

I love this ROM it is sleek and nice so I kinda want to keep it. So now the only issue left is the camera button and I really don't care about that since I use zoomfx anyway.
 
Thanks Phenomx4 ! I'm New Here, But I've Been In The Custom Android Scene For A Couple Years. Anyways I Flashed My ZTE Awe & It Works Great. Currently Running Slimkat 4.4.4
 
Of all the roms I have tried for this phone this one is the first to give me random shutdowns. No idea what triggers it. Other then that it works very well for me.
 
Thought I'd give a heads up cause I'm not sure if anyone else has a working hotspot. Mine works so far. If there's anything I can do to help let me know

I agree, it's a nice ROM. I don't mind using a 3rd party app for the camera the other features make up for it lacking a working camera app.
 
Since Slimkat doesn't use theme engine would there be any interest in a L based theme for this ROM? Primarily framework, systemui and settings?
 
This one has App2SD! I tried to install it w/o wiping system and that led to all sorts of badness. So, then I wiped system, and it wouldn't install. Back to Cyanogenmod 11 until the weekend, most likely.
 
So it begins! Trying to get this ROM installed... Any tricks? It just fails...

I've got TWRP 2.8.0.0

Looks like that worked! We'll see how this one goes!

Looks like it's going to work well. But, the Messaging app crashes every time. Textra! And my beloved Candy Crush crashes a lot at startup still...

Edit: Going to work for me. My only concern now is how small everything is. I have chosen huge font and updated all the settings for my preferred launcher (Action Launcher). The only thing left that seems to be an issue for me is the size of the notification bar - it's very tiny / narrow and it's pretty hard for me to read whatever's in there... Any ideas?

Change your DPI ...slimkat is 182 I think by default. 220 is a nice compromise.

Thanks for that tip. Will look around for the DPI setting myself.

Installed SlimKat today, coming from rooted stock with the latest TWRP. Flashed ROM, then gapps. Working on restoring a few apps and data.

Still exploring features - overall, the only problem that has jumped out at me is that the message "Unfortunately, Google+ has stopped." is popping up regularly.

Any suggestions for resolving this error?

Coming from rooted stock, this is the first 4.4.4 ROM I have installed.

Maybe try installing the slimkat version of gapps from there site. It is more updated and compatible for this ROM.
 
Oh damn I just flashed this rom and realized that there is no OC feature. Well that is a deal breaker for me. Back to L I guess...
