Root [ROM][RC][4.4.4] SlimKat 12/22/2014

Well I have this ROM running good with the OC kernel. I have noticed MASSIVE temp reductions compared to 4.1.2.

I just ran Atutu. I beat my best benchmark. My last high was 17400 on the L rom using spocks kernel. I just scored 18764 with this ROM and temps never went over 47c. Pretty rad!
 
How would Virgin Mobile voice mail be handled in this ROM?

When I tried CM11 for the AWE, every time I would get a voice mail I would end up with MANY weird texts from Virgin Mobile, it was really annoying. I ended up using L Awe. However, I use SlimKat on my 1st generation kindle and love it. Plus slimkat may fix my ongoing problems with streaming bluetooth media in my car. But I don't think I could go back to that annoying voicemail text issue.
 
OK. That was what I was afraid of. Dang.

I would be fine with no visual voice mail and just having to call in to retrieve the message (old way); but getting multiple strange texts was just too annoying.
 
Can you send me a link to download this? (mediafire wont let me download anything i try and ive even messed with my settings and it still wont let me download it) so could you please post a mirror link possibly??

Mine I can't send or receive MMS it just sticks on download. I had the same problem except on cm11 it said something about an APN error where this one just won't download but I haven't had the force close
 
Having an l awe based theme would be awesome. Not sure if it would defeat the purpose of this ROM being lite weight. Currently using slimhue for themeing.
 
Has anyone had any success using link2sd? Its showing that the apps are on SD but they are not actually there.

Theming the ROM wouldn't add any size. Chances are with optimized images and compression of the apks it would likely be smaller. :D

As Earl said once we have an RC or a stable beta that phenom is happy with we'll theme it and do what we do...I feel strongly about doing a theme for this ROM as it doesn't support theme engine like the CM based variants of AOSP. Hard code theming a CM/variant would be a waste of effort with them having the new theme engine and the depth that the new engine can do with asset overlays.
 
Yeah the MMS issue is weird. Has anyone looked at the mmsconfig for the stock app? Or the apnconfig? The apns in framework seem ok. So idk...:confused:
 
take the stock 4.4 slimkat mms.apk and edit in the sprint mms settings from the stock rom mms app. mms config xml. should make at least the stock mms work.


edit: someone post the mms.apk and the framework-res.apk and ill add the needed changes.
