Are the ROMs able to automatically update or do we have to lose all system data for every update? I have a feeling all we would have to do to update to a new 4.0 version would be to delete the cache and all the other steps but will we have to format system if we want the next version?

I don't see anywhere which version is used as a base for this? Is there WiFi Tethering without the restrictions of F stock firmware?

Is it possible to do this without an sd card because I never bought one since the phone has 5gb of storage...

Yeah, you can use the internal memory. Its preferable to use an SD just in case there is a problem or if you need a backup.
