AGAIN I GOT THIS IDEA FROM MATLOCK ON THE EVO FORUMS AND THOUGHT IT BE A GOOD THING TO HAVE HERE. NOT TRYING TO STEAL ANYTHING JUST HELP THE DX SIDE AND NEWBIES..


So, ok since i said that just copie and past the format and fill in with your words. i think this would be great fro people to have on our forums for the newbies or the people who havnt tried out roms yet.

I'll start off by reviewing the last rom i was on before switching. I can't stay on a rom too long or i get flashing fever. :D

YOUR IMPRESSION OVERALL OF THE ROM/KERNEL:The Rom was very nice, All of my apps installed from the market the fastest ever on any Rom. Very fluid rom, butter smooth right out of the "box". Gingerbread themed which is nice for some and not for others. It has most of the MotoBlur apps removed (which is nice)

How easy was it to install? As easy as any other Rom
How long have you been using it? Used it for about a week
Is it user-friendly? As user friendly as any other GB (leak) rom
Does it Force Close alot? Can't think of any force close issues that I had.
What are your favorite features? Apps restored very quickly, CRT animation (almost basic anymore though)
What are your least favorite features? After a few days, battery life seemed to drop (totally could have been me changing things)
What kind of battery life does it have? I got great battery life with this rom, 15hrs and still had 60% charge left
Would you recommend this ROM/KERNEL to others? Already have :)

WHAT DOES NOT WORK IN THE ROM (ROM ONLY): I had issues with the search button not working properly. Heard of others with this problem. (May have been fixed)

YOUR IMPRESSION OVERALL OF THE ROM/KERNEL:My first GB rom, and I'm glad it was. It was snappy for me and ran very well. Kind of wish more of the Blur was removed out of it but that's something I can do myself

How easy was it to install? usual procedure
How long have you been using it? I ran this rom for about a week (usual length for a rom on my phone :D )
Is it user-friendly? Pretty basic build, Yes it is user friendly
Does it Force Close alot? I had a few force closes on it, Titanium Backup wouldn't work for me with this rom for some reason
What are your favorite features? The fact that it was one of the first GB roms, Stable, Great battery life.
What are your least favorite features? Search Key Issues, Had to remove bloat myself
What kind of battery life does it have? Easily was getting about 30hrs on moderate use
Would you recommend this ROM/KERNEL to others? I personally think there are better roms out as of now (4.26.11) that the search key works on as this was kind of a deal breaker for me. I constantly use the search key and found myself being dumbfounded on searching without it.haha
Why did you uninstall? Search key not working right

YOUR IMPRESSION OVERALL OF THE ROM/KERNEL: really clean and smooth. Snappy and fast

How easy was it to install? as any other rom would be (froyo based)

How long have you been using it? about 3 or 4 days

Is it user-friendly? Yes

Does it Force Close alot? No, but did run into a issue where my status bar disappeared and couldnt get it back till i rebooted then it worked again, since then no problems

What are your favorite features? that is works with no bugs and its clean and smooth and no wallpapers installed cause well who uses all them that come in them roms lol

What are your least favorite features? comes pre installed with ADW and if you dont like adw and want LP you cant get rid of ADW so you will have 3 home launcher so more space taken up and on "roms" default launcher google talk is in dock could of made it more used apps in the dock like (phone, gmail, sms, web)

What kind of battery life does it have? normal i would say all day with light to medium and when i hit it hard i leave it plugged in

Would you recommend this ROM/KERNEL to others? YES

Well i would say this rom is a great rom to start off with and or use as a daily rom. clean, fast, snappy gets the job done

WHAT DOES NOT WORK IN THE ROM (ROM ONLY): Everything works in the rom. I am unaware of bugs, but check the DX root section to verify this.

YOUR IMPRESSION OVERALL OF THE ROM/KERNEL: The thing is smooth as butter and flies. The improvements over froyo are significant enough to me to make this a different phone, much better than froyo.

How easy was it to install? So easy it's silly.

How long have you been using it? Since May 2, 2011

Is it user-friendly? Extremely user friendly.

Does it Force Close alot? No force closes at all. Very stable.

What are your favorite features? I have to say that I am in LOVE with the new MotoBlur widgets. I can't state that strongly enough. When I left the Incredible, I really missed Sense UI. The new MotoBlur has really filled the void for me.

I like the way you can group appropriate apps together in your app drawer and name the group "media", "tools", "root", etc. On top of that you can add a shortcut to each group on your home screen, and change the accompanying icons, for easy identification.

I like the new dialer and blur address book changes. Very slick.

I like the blue/green theming. I am not a fan of the green stock gingerbread. I think Moto really scored on this color change.

It's significantly smoother and faster than froyo. Quandrant scores bear that out.

What are your least favorite features? I'm not a fan of bloat, but who is. You can always freeze or rename it. I wish the motoblur calendar widget scrolled, like sense's does. It's not a deal breaker for me, though, as I can always select it and the resultant google calendar scrolls.

What kind of battery life does it have? Seems pretty good. I didn't time it.

Would you recommend this ROM/KERNEL to others? Absolutely. I do. In fact, I like it so much, I am feeling less of a need for a custom rom than when I was on froyo.

And of course, whatever else you want to add in your review. I have my last 1 year renewal coming up in July. Until GingerBlur, I was "atta here" as soon as that date rolled around. Now with the new software and performance improvements, I can see myself hanging onto the DX until some significantly new technology comes around. The hardware is superior, the screen is great. It's fast as heck and I really am enjoying it, perhaps for the first time, since I bought it. :)

WHAT DOES NOT WORK IN THE ROM (ROM ONLY): so far havent found anything that dont work

YOUR IMPRESSION OVERALL OF THE ROM/KERNEL: very fast very easy has been great so far first rom i tried and ive stuck to it tried liberty 2.0.1 but couldnt seem to get the apps to work (might be because still a newb at custom roms)

How easy was it to install? extremely easy through fission rom manager (from the rom manager touch the rom tap yes to download once downloaded tap it again to add to install list tap install on bottom of screen then wipe and clear in the next option then presto)
How long have you been using it? 3 weeks
Is it user-friendly? extremely (has been super easy for any one new to roms)
Does it Force Close alot? havent had one yet
What are your favorite features? super fast cant find any bloat
What are your least favorite features? none so far
What kind of battery life does it have? so far ive been using the crap out of it playing with setting installing different things through the rom manager and other apps and so far to me seems like 30% and up
Would you recommend this ROM/KERNEL to others? oh yeah
And of course, whatever else you want to add in your review. so far im happy with this rom im kinda flash happy but seem to be quite content with this rom its so easy simple and just cant get over the features in the fission rom manager also liberty toolbox by JRummy16 and rom manager by Clockwork mod most features with the free versions work on this rom to

WHAT DOES NOT WORK IN THE ROM (ROM ONLY): the only thing that doesnt work is when you take a picture and the pic shrinks to the corner of the screen, if you click on the pic, a message pops up saying media gallery not installed. You have to go through the 3d gallery to see your pics. Not a deal breaker though. Also, I have had two instances were my 3g connection and ability to make phone calls has stopped. Reboot fixed issue.

YOUR IMPRESSION OVERALL OF THE ROM/KERNEL: Very fast and stable. I have had zero f/c

And of course, whatever else you want to add in your review. Dev is very active on his website. He has his own dedicated discussion board for all his roms, and is on them all the time. He even has beta testers to test his roms before they go public. He is very fast on getting updates out.

How easy was it to install? Very easy, just like any froyo based rom

How long have you been using it? 3 or 4 days

Is it user-friendly? yes

Does it Force Close alot? nope just on a few apps but they were just one first click then they worked fine

What are your favorite features? The themeing

What are your least favorite features? the custom keyboard maybe a bit to much themeing.

What kind of battery life does it have? got great battery life.

Would you recommend this ROM/KERNEL to others? yes

And of course, whatever else you want to add in your review. seemed to be a bit laggy and i could find out how to change the animation speeds they were slow. All and all good rom

YOUR IMPRESSION OVERALL OF THE ROM/KERNEL: i love it..its simple and has a great selection of themes.

How easy was it to install? very easy..took about 5-7 minutes.

How long have you been using it? it has been about 2 weeks now.

Is it user-friendly? very user friendly..i think so atleast

Does it Force Close alot? not at all for me..ive read that others have but i use my phone daily and it hasnt yet fc'd.

What are your favorite features? boot animations/logos, themes, fonts..really everything.

What are your least favorite features? as of now..nothing.

What kind of battery life does it have? for me battery life has been great im using it for like 10hrs straight and still got like 50% left.

Would you recommend this ROM/KERNEL to others? yes ive already gotten 5 friends to root and install the rom

And of course, whatever else you want to add in your review. well i've read in numerous posts about people putting this rom down but just maybe their not doing something right or its just not their rom..i think its a great rom, very fast and stable and i thank the DEVS for making this great rom possible for everyone to download and use.

WHAT DOES NOT WORK IN THE ROM (ROM ONLY): Everything that I needed to work did. Never tried HDMI though.

YOUR IMPRESSION OVERALL OF THE ROM/KERNEL: At first glance it doesn't seem much different that stock GB which is a good thing, IMO. I felt that it was really smooth in transitioning and didn't hang like the stock did when unlocking. It was really fast overall and the battery life was really all over the place. Whereas, one day I would be plugged in by 3, another like today it's been off the charger for more than 12 hours and has 50% left. And everyday it experiences the same use. These last few days I've been having some random soft reboots (straight to boot animation). Mainly when playing pandora. The first song is about to finish and it goes blank and unresponsive then a few moments later it will show the boot animation. And today I had the light turned on through widgetlocker and it rebooted but the light stayed on during the reboot and that was very annoying. These reboots are making me jump to the newest GB leak.

How easy was it to install? As easy as any other ROM
How long have you been using it? Over a week
Is it user-friendly? Sure
Does it Force Close alot? no force closes just reboots.
What are your favorite features? The battery life on a good day.
What are your least favorite features? The battery life on a bad day and the reboots.
What kind of battery life does it have? It was random. Really good one day then the next
Would you recommend this ROM/KERNEL to others? Meh, maybe.

WHAT DOES NOT WORK IN THE ROM (ROM ONLY):
There's a new "Liberty Customizer" which allows you to pick and choose various blur or aosp apps (camera, gallery, music, calendar, etc) or to remove them. However, the "Share" option in the Blur Gallery doesn't work, so I reinstalled a 2.2 version. But the 2.2 Blur Gallery gets deleted after every reboot, so I have to reflash from bootstrap every time my phone restarts.

The customizer doesn't remove music mods, and if I choose the AOSP calendar my Jorte widgets don't show up (strange).

Also, for some reason my "3" (cubed) music player is very buggy on Liberty. Half my songs don't play, album art is mixed up, and it's been very unstable (a lot of FCs). Didn't have this issue on .588

To me it just feels like they stripped down some things without much testing (I guess this IS a beta release) and it's interfering with some apps. The Liberty Customizer idea is really nice though.

How easy was it to install? Downloaded straight from Toolbox and installed right away
How long have you been using it? Been using Liberty GB since it came out, updated to v0.4 a couple days ago
Is it user-friendly? Very, aside from customization bugs (not big issues, but I use the Blur gallery a lot and I've grown accustomed to Cubed)
Does it Force Close alot? LauncherPro force closes every time the phone starts up, but I've had this issue on .588 GB too. Just saying it doesn't fix it.

What are your favorite features? I like the idea of the customizer. And of course all the Liberty settings we've all come to love are built in.
What are your least favorite features? See above
What kind of battery life does it have? Sub-par. I'm getting terrible on-screen battery time (about 10% every 20 minutes when browsing the web) and I've been averaging about 15-20 hours of battery life (compared to 25-30 in 2.2, and about 22-25 on .588 GB). I'm still trying to find the culprit, which is a lot harder since Spare Parts battery usage doesn't work on GB. I switched to my extended battery today to see if it's my stock battery (I've been worried since I hit 120 degrees F last week). I'll keep you guys updated.
Would you recommend this ROM/KERNEL to others? If it was free, yes. But as of now...a bit buggy for 5 bucks.

Just remember that I haven't really looked up fixes for my problems, and I don't expect a lot of support at the moment because it's a beta version and not open to the public. I'm sure that things will be better once it hits the interwebs. Battery life, for me, has been worse than I expected, and there are some weird kinks and annoying bugs, but not to the point where it cripples my phone.

WHAT DOES NOT WORK IN THE ROM (ROM ONLY): Customizer doesn't work quite as promised, same with charge light feature.

YOUR IMPRESSION OVERALL OF THE ROM/KERNEL: Very quick... subtle changes from stock gingerbread. Most of Gingerblur is still there (good thing). I highly recommend this rom, it won't change your phone a ton it basically just
removes bloat and adds a governor and a few cool options with the customizer

How easy was it to install? fairly simple, 2 part flash plus data wipe
How long have you been using it? a week
Is it user-friendly? yup
Does it Force Close alot? never
What are your favorite features? undervolt on boot, theme changes
What are your least favorite features? new boot animation
What kind of battery life does it have? very similar to gingerbread .595
Would you recommend this ROM/KERNEL to others? yes, if your bored or looking to change .595, this is the room for you. very stable and quick

The customizer doesn't work as promised (theme preview) but beyond that it is a great way to remove bloat, I don't see a huge change from stock like you might with froyo ROMs but thats more a testament to GB then anything else. The question you need to ask yourself is it worth the data wipe that is required for a few new options and minimal speed changes.

Some re boots if you are doing memory intensive things in unison- example- listening to music via streaming, web browsing, and then opening the gallery caused re boot. Any videos in my gallery now show as unknown format. No charging indicator.

What are your least favorite features? Seemed like my phone was slower, laggy, wifi would work on nothing, changing my boot logo and when i flashed back it stayed liberty

Would you recommend this ROM/KERNEL to others? NO!
And of course, whatever else you want to add in your review. After getting all the problems i did with this, ( i thought i flashed bad so i did go to one of my back ups and re-flashed and wiped like 6 times and then still bad and then re downloaded from mirror and wiped 6 times) i couldnt get my phone to run right or anything. IMHO junk :eek: but in liberty's defense seems like alot of people had luck and liked it alot but not for my phone
