Couldn't help but try the new version of ShiftS3ns3, even thought I was set on waiting until after the OTA release (as previously mentioned). Made my backup, cleared cache, davlik cache, and format/system, and installed 1.5X from the download I made. The upgrade is just that - It doesn't delete any of your user data, apps, etc. Really smooth update process when coming from a previous version of the ROM.

The only issue I've had so far was with My Verizon. It disappeared upon install (coming from 1.3X), and when I reinstalled it I got a bunch of FC's with it. Had to uninstall, restart the phone, then reinstall My Verizon. Worked fine after that.

Overall I like the changes. The new Google Market is nice to have. NFL Mobile and Verizon apps work great. Most things are subtle and that's a good thing in this instance, since I liked 1.3X so much. Overall ROM performance is smooth. I'm going to stay with this version.

Battery life is much better on 1.5X as well, especially when the phone is in standby mode. Usually would see the battery drop faster when not using the phone on 1.3X.

1.5x good here as well, and the 1.4f->1.5x without data wipe is nice. I had to full wipe for 1.4 because I was coming from Gingeritis. However, I may not have properly cleaned up then or I may have been heavy handed with TiBU restores so now I may need to wipe data and reflash 1.5x.

When I went from Gingeritis to 1.4, I got into this weird situation where the weather lockscreen says no forecast available and in accounts & sync there is no weather sync, but if I try to add a weather account, an error pops saying that I already have a weather account. I've tried reboots, force stops, clear data on htc weather sync provider, etc... I guess no biggie doing another data wipe, but wondering if anyone knows a way to fix this directly because everything else is fine.

I noticed this as well, it only dropped 10-13% overnight standby compared to the usual 20-25% with V1.3 (which is amazing compared to the 40% loss stock).

As far as normal usage, battery life has increased too.

DroidTh3ory is the man, HTC should hire him.

Has anyone else checked out the panoramic effect in the camera? It is amazing.

That's a good question to pose to DT himself on his website for the ROM. Sorry I don't have a good answer.

HTC has their hands tied by Verizon. I don't think HTC can release a ROM that gets great battery life with all the crap they have to include from Verizon. I'm glad DT is on our side. It is interesting that the development community can do a better job than the manufacturer in designing a ROM. I seriously doubted that before rooting, but now I realize how wrong I was.

Haven't checked out out the panoramic effect yet, will have to do that.

Anyone know what happened to the DroidTh3ory forum for ShiftS3ns3 (the forum on his new site)? It's been down for a day or two - Seems odd.
