text input is squirly on the dedicated keyboard. it offers suggestion when I don't want them. I've finally turned that feature off. However, it still doesn't auto punctuate some words. the worst part is that i get symbol/alt entries where they arent intended nor wanted.
 
Is anyone having trouble with the removal scripts in the Chevy1 tools? Basically they never remove CrapBook, Twitter, AmazonMP3, etc.
 
just downloaded...and installed...and rebooted my phone...

and now it is stuck in a bootloop...for about the last 5-7 mins...what should i do?

help!!
 
ok...not sure what happend...but it was stuck in a bootloop for almost 30 mins...

after 30 mins of waiting...i pulled the battery...loaded into recovery. and then i wiped all my data. then i reinstalled...and now it seems to be working...

i'll post incase of anything else...

I've also had problems with the bootloop. Tried installing it three times with Rom mananger. Used Kernel 1.2 and 1, anybody wanna share what kernel they used if any to prevent the bootloop and what all options they chose if they used any at all

Been on this ROM for a few days now, and I love it! I am using
Slayher 1.6 LV 1200 Kernel, same as I have for my last few ROMS... As you know, they seem to work different on different phones, but mine really loves it! I keep my profiles on SetCpu mainly at max 1200 min 700, with the exception of the battery and heat profiles, and it runs flawlessly and FAST! Battery life seems quite good too!
 
I loved SS 4.7, so coming up to 4.8 was a no-brainer. Only problem I had was with LauncherPro, so I did some searching and changed some of the setting for LP and it's all good.

The only downside is that I've been spoiled with themes like NexTheme and Watermark'd, so having a plain jane status bar and other stuff is just like having vanilla ice cream w/ no chocolate syrup.

I've been waiting all week! Waaahhh!

Seriously though, great ROM. Thanks Chevy. If you ever come to Prescott, Arizona, I'm taking you down to Whiskey Row and buying you a beer.
 
Been using this rom for almost a week now and honestly, im loving every bit of it. This rom has to be under-rated and overshadowed by BBv5. I find that this rom is just as stable, fast, and even less buggy than BBv5

Does anyone know of a plain black status bar I could install for this rom. I can change all the text colors, but not the bar itself.

StewartChamp updated his Watermark'd theme shortly after this ROM came out I believe. You can find the thread in this forum.
 
This is my first time using a Chevy ROM, and I have to say - wish I had started a long time ago!! Amazing so far, thanks so much!

One question - I deleted the stock messaging app using the script in the ChevyNo1 Tools menu. How do I reinstall it?

I did the same thing and found it in the /sdcard/simplystunning/ directory. There were a few folders in there from previous backups I did, so I just hit the search button and searched for "MMS" (the .apk name of the stock messenger app) and it found it in there. If you don't find it in there, then if you use Titanium backup, then I'm sure you can restore it with that if you've ever did a full backup before.

I flashed this through rom manager coming from UD 1.0 and my phone will not boot up.. I haven't put a kernel on it and I've tried it twice. Anyone else having this issue or have an explanation for this?

I ma looking forward to putting this on. I like Smoked Glass so far but I think I am going to love this. I have already downloaded the themer pack and can't wait to get it in Green. The blue is nice and all but I am going to convert the color scheme to Android Green. Look for it coming soon.
 
I see its not getting answered here too the first post was about the search button not working after installing the update from the market has anyone found a way to fix this?
 
I am really enjoying this rom, but I ran into a problem today and I am not sure if it is my end, or maybe the market. Every thing I have tried to download has failed. I went into manage apps, and cleared data/cache thinking that was maybe the issue. It is even failing on updates for current apps. The thing that sucks about that is that I just bought TiBu Pro through the market. It let me do that, but wont successfully download the program. I am going to go to sleep because I work nights, but if it does not work when I wake up. I am going to go back and give BB another try.

I installed via rom manager. Before installing you can choose to get the york theme. This is what I used and I love it. Heres a link.

This is the first time I've been geeked enough about a ROM that I felt compelled to write about it.

I've pretty much gone through a ROM a day - since the day after I got my phone back in July.

In order of irritation relief; I've been looking for a ROM that will let me:
  • remove the Verizon Wireless text from the lock screen, and anywhere else it occurs. it's my phone and they irritate me enough without forcing me to see their name whenever i look at my phone.
  • have the four items along the bottom - phone, contacts, messaging, and browser. customization like glass background to the buttons is a plus but not a showstopper
  • give me a nice looking theme to start with. i don't mind adding a look afterward, but if it's all wrapped up from the get-go, so much the better
  • let me remove some of the stock apps that i will never use, especially ones that start up and stick around like Amazon MP3.
  • Speed, Battery life, Stability

Yeah some of the items listed can be shuffled around, but it's pretty much what I look for.

Like most people who hang in these forums (at least from what I gather), I rarely hang onto a ROM for more than a week. This one might stay loaded a bit longer. It hits all the points on my "wish list" with very little tweaking. :-)

The only thing I haven't settled on is which launcher to use. I keep flipping between ADW and Launcher Pro. Maybe there's one that I haven't heard of, yet. It would be awesome if there was a launcher that would allow to switch between the glossy fit and finish of MIUI, and the zippy hands-on tweekiness of the stock-style launcher. In time, maybe?

Seroiusly - the more I use the Droid, the more I wish I was a coder...
 
EDIT: duh didnt try the 4.9 right above me! I cant seem to find this rom anywhere to download it, rom manager errors and all the links I found are dead.... any ideas anyone?
