NOTE: If you are still running B06, you will need to flash the partition updater and the rom.

NOTE2: These zips are unsigned so you will need to disable signature verification in cwm before flashing.

NOTE3: Your device must have CWM to flash ROMs.

Flash in CWM as follows:
  1. Download ROM
  2. Put the ROM on your sdcard if not already
  3. Reboot to CWM Recovery
  4. MAKE A BACKUP!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Wipe data
  6. Install ROM from sdcard
  7. Reboot
  8. Enjoy!

Thanks to:
Mancow60 - Uploaded the B09 update.zip
CmplxAdSys - Applied the update, uploaded B09 system.img and boot.img

Where is the boot animation at in this ROM? I don't see it in the media folder. The only one's in media are the stock Sprint ones.

Loaded the debloated and deodexed with root and it worked great but I would like the timer app that was left out. I copied the timer.apk on my phone but it doesn't install. Is there a way I can install that app or do I need to install the unmodified stock rom and get all the other unwanted apps that come with it?

If you grab the removed files from the bottom of the list on the op you will find the deodexed timer app which will work for you.

That's what I did - then I copied it to my SD card and tried to install it with the package installer but the install fails. Is there a special method for installation?

Got it. It works now...thank you.
Kudos to all who worked to provide us rooted folks the B09 update.
It was a job well done and is greatly appreciated.

I'm having trouble installing this ROM.

Virgin Mobile Supreme. I rooted with the Kingo Android Root program on my PC.

Since I'm still on the 06 version for my phone, I followed the directions and downloaded both the ROM (quantum_supreme_stock_B09_deodexed.zip) and the Partition Updater mentioned in the fist post of the thread. I copied them to the SD card on my phone - into a folder I made called Updates.

I rebooted into recovery but there was no option for doing a backup. if I rebooted my phone normally, started the CWM ROM manager app, there is an option for doing a backup there, it asks me for a file name to save as, then reboots into recovery mode. Again, there is no option for doing a backup there.

I cleared the /cache partition

I tried updating the Partition updater as mentioned in the first post in the thread. It failed.

I tried updating the ROM mentioned above. It also failed.

Not sure what to try next.

Wondering if/when there's another update in the future, will I be able to automatically download it from VM? Or, will this procedure be necessary again?

You will not be able to get updates installed while using the deodexed rom. You could flash the unmodified rom to get updates.

This is a stupid question but I will still ask it.
I am trying to use the instructions listed below to install the update. However, CWM ROM manager insists that I install a custom recovery but the ZTE Supreme isn't in the drop down list of supported phone devices. Which phone device should I be using? What am I missing?
Thank you

The CWM for this device is not in ROM Manager. You can find it here along with instructions for installation.

Downloaded the CWM beta quantum_cwm.img.
Renamed the file to recovery.img and stored it on the internal SD card at the root level.
Used terminal emulator to run the following commands:
su
dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
reboot recovery

The phone did boot into recovery.
I did a back up and then wipe data/factory reset.
After the reset finished, I tried to install the rom (quantum_supreme_stock_B09_root.zip) that is stored on the internal SD card at the root level.

Any suggestions?
Thanks.

I just tried the quantum_supreme_stock_B09_deodexed.zip update.
I received the same results
Install/sdcard...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
Installation aborted.

Unable to get recovery.img to install. REceive message from terminal emunlator that
"cannot open for read: No such file or directory". The file does exist on the inernal sd card at the root level.

I think my phone wasn't meant to get the update. Must be a Friday the 13th thing.

Ringtones for the Stock B09 4.1.2 debloated and deodexed with root don't work properly. When I receive an email, the ringtone/notification sound doesn't play the correct sound. Tried many different things. Nothing works. Had to go back to stock rooted.
