Root [ROM][TH3ORYROM] PUR3AO5PTH3ORY V1.0 [AOSP/CM7] DKS Kernel (8/3/2011)

Man this rom is smooth as butter. Also, I could not get google talk to send voice from my phone if the other party initiated the call on LTB...works fine here after using gtalk installer.
 
i like this rom alot,also. im also happy to see that the wifi/3g/etc. icons have changed... i wasnt fond of them in 1.2

flashed overtop of 1.2 with cache/dalvik wipe and reflash service fix,and no issues yet :)

Agreed, the new icons are much better.
As a side note I'm using the MR2 OTA now which has been better for me 3g to 4g hand off-wise. *shrug* guess the radios are really a personal preference for some. I may work my way up to the 704 for more testing.
 
Well the MR2 didn't last long for me. The phone randomly shut itself off twice today at 75%+ battery. I flashed MR2.5, but I'm hoping it's not an issue with the rom.
 
No md5 in the OP yet, does that mean it's not ready?

this is a complete different topic. its just that i dont know how to make a new thread so i just replied here.. pls do you have any idea how to make a video call from samsung nexxus s via google talk. from my android to pc. before its working but lately its like i cant use it anymore when i reformated my android. do i need to install something or just a set up? pls reply. thank you.
 
Looks like DroidTh3ory is taking a hiatus from rom development to focus on some family priorities. Hopefully everything goes well for him and he's able to return with the same enthusiasm and slightly puzzling spelling :D.

I'm probably going to run this for awhile since its been so smooth, even without updates on the horizon.

I actually flashed 1.4 this morning, working well so far. I also tried to use the gps fix posted in the OP and I just had errors :mad:

Oh well, don't really care for GPS that much and the rom is amazingly smooth and clean. I really like the theory store for easy theme changes. Nice refreshing change for me after a week of being to busy to flash a rom:D

When I switched to CM7 rc 1.5 I had to do the GPS fix as well. However you can use any Sense rom and I believe I used das bamf 4.9. Maybe try a different rom? I only had to do the fix that one time and it's stuck since.

Yeah but I don't feel like downloading a full sense rom, I may still have an old one stuffed in my SD card but I am not sure if it is new enough to work on the 704 radio :rolleyes: I may end up a sense rom to get it working, the only thing I would like it for is so I can get area based ads that don't have me an Alabama, Europe, or India (Yeah I got an ad for the best curry outside of Bangladesh) oh and it is nice to have working weatherbug...

There is a sense build just for the GPS fix at the bottom of droidth3ory's first post on xda. Fixed me right up without having to change radios. It is also only 150 MB, as opposed to 300+ for most full sense roms.

Yeah tried it, flashed, got fc on market, only apps work market, gtalk, ADW, and voice search I believe, perhaps a bad download on my part. I booted back into recovery once I started getting FC on framework.

I only used it long enough to turn on GPS, get a lock in Google maps, and then reflash AO5P. Didn't get any FCs during the 90 seconds it was on my phone though.
 
I didn't get google maps installed with the rom. I was able to turn on GPS. Like I said not that big of a deal (I think my phone just doesn't like sense now that it is so used to the tiny size of AOSP ;))
