Root [ROM] The Second Wave... | Droid Incredible

tried it... and same result... still nothing. imma try to reinstall it thru clockwork using the zip.. maybe that will work

Hoping someone can help me, searched around a bit and couldn't find answer. And I just love this thread!

Tried to restore a nandroid today due to some freaky stuff going on after installing the transparent status bar. And I get "md5sum mismatch"? The only thing I did different than any other time is rename the backup?

Nevermind I just didn't search well enough, found my problem...space in rename!

and that was where you messed it up.... there was a way to fix this but cant remeber where it is... are you on this rom bc i can get you the stock framework back if you need that... what all messed up?

how do i get visual voice mail to work. i downloaed the link and installed it with clockmod just liike i did with the battery and 3g hotspot. soon as i installed the battery and 3g wiget, they show up immidiately. i cant seem to get visual voice mail to work. if i use astro to brose for it, i find the system folder which has an app folder and when i open it, it gives me a unistall or launch option. when i choose lauch, it says it cant be found. any clue?

Impatient much?

;)

Visual Voice mail also requires the htc messaging app.

Quick question...is there any way to install the newer version of Wireless tether?

Specifically a way to get it to work in AP mode?

I tried installing the new version over the existing...no go.

I tried manually removing wireless tether from while in recovery from ADB, said read/write not allowed or something.

How can I do it?

Thanks

You have to mount the system partition to remove something from it.

I made a patch that removes it for you....let me see if I can find it.

Great thanks.

And just out of curiosity and a desire to see how much im learning/picking up.

If I did mount /system in clockwork recovery, then the commands would take?

Also, now that I have unrevoked forever, is there something that would allow me to do that while booted up?

Thanks again.

Would the actual command line stuff be similar to what I had to do when I renamed the HTCLockScreen.apk files from the command prompt to remove the htc screen in favor of the vanilla lockscreen? if it is, im pretty confident I could handle it.

P.S. writing this while connected via AP mode with Wireless Tether_2_0_5-pre8.

Works great.

Well, all you would need to do would be:

mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
rem /system/app/applicationname.apk
sync
mount -o remount,ro -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system

Thats about it.

Well thats a little more advanced than I was thinking...

I'll have to take a look tomorrow when I have some time and try and put it together.

For now though, the link to the zip worked fine, and like I said I just installed the newest .apk so im good to go.

Thanks again

So I haven't seen it any where in this thread... Is there an actual streaming audio patch for this or do you have to get all CLI on it? Apologize in advance if it's been covered and I missed it... Thanks.
