Root Rom toolbox

Just curious if anyone knows if we can take advantage of the notification bar icon changing offered in rom toolbox pro? I want to change my 4g icon but don't want to **** my phone up. Thanks ;)

Haven't tried it but you might be able to download the icons using rom toolbox. Then go into the romtoolbox folder in your internal storage and see if they're their. If so you could de-compile systemui.apk nd swap out the pngs just nsme tge new one the same as the old. Zip it and rename it back to apk, move it back to system/app and change permissions. Just rename the original first. Idk maybe.

Ok so i just tried it.. After you select the icon you want download it but DON'T install. Exit out to your file manager and go to the mentioned folder unzip the icon folder and there are your pngs should be able to follow steps above and be all good.

As matter of fact I'll do it for you just let me know which one you want... If you want.

Yeah if you could that would be awesome :) I want the one that is the same color as the stock 4g but says lte, should know which one I mean ;) thank you

Ok went ahead and did it but the colors are nowhere near the same and it looks goofy so i just deleted it. There's thread with a white 4g lte system ui somewhere on here, that might be your best option. Or find one you like and let me know and I'll switch it out. The ones on toolvox don't match the ui color.

After you rename the old one to systemui.apk.bak, move this to system/app. Long press on the apk to pull up menu check change permissions. Out of the nine boxes the left three up and down should all be checked, the middle row up and down only the top one should be checked, and none on the last column. After you're done it should read rw-r-r. Reboot phone for changes to show.

I'm using cm file manager, when I go into permissions or has four columns S R W and X, which do I check, any idea?

And 3 rows Owners Groups and Others

Never used that so go into romtoolbox and use the root browser in it or download root browser for free from g-play. I personally use root explorer not familiar with the one you're using.

Just saw the screen shot... that is correct. The columns stand for (R)ead, (W)rite, (X). execute. Don't worry about the first column on your file manager.

See, it actually looks good, matches the GPS icon. I like it ;)
