Root [ROM] [Unofficial CM11] (Still in development)

You guys are sooooo friggin in for a treat. Phenom is the bomb, don't wear him out, lol. I really wish I could help in someway. I'm just a hitch hiker, lol.

Yeah Phenom is a great guy and a solid dev. We're lucky to have got him interested in helping.

So you or someone else built it for this phone or is it a port from an other phone?

You'd have to talk to the op of the other thread. There's a link to the thread in the first post. This was built from source I believe, so its probably not a port. This was a ROM built for a couple of devices though. Like the next and the warp LTE and a couple of other zte devices. I tried to get a logcat but it just gave me some errors and didn't read the logs. So its gonna be a challenge to find out exactly what's wrong with the radio.

Is this going to be like the new UI Cyanogen 11S like in the One plus one smartphone thats coming out or is that a modified version of the 11? And this will be just that Cyano 11

Alright all, tonight I am taking it upon myself to download the boost mobile moto g cm11 ROM on a 1x connection so I can pull all the rils and port them to our cm11 ROM I'll test and if it works I'm gonna put out a fix. Update will be out ASAP.

for any of you who do not know, this ROM is from me, and I spent a lot of time working on it, the kernel was the hardest part that took the most time

On the MSM8x30 GSM devices i have RIL working just fine

One of the testers I had, that had an AWE (CDMA) model tested for me, RIL was working partially, so he tried to update his PRL

this some how corrupted his NV RAM and he had to get the phone replaced, even after he flashed back to stock ROM, his phone would not come out of ROAMING

So to try to get things to continue to move along, I modified the install script, to not install RIL files for the CDMA models

now the RIL files that I do have working for GSM, are not ZTE RIL files, they are from the Samsung Serano LTE, in fact most of of the proprietary blobs are from the Samsung Serano LTE

I really do not have time to contribute to this project much anymore, but what I have done so far was a lot of work, and just the fact that we have cm11 booting is a mile stone

I know Phenomx, and will be happy to answer questions for him, and help out from time to time.

Phenom is a good dev, and I think that you guys/gals should get a donation going for him to get an AWE

I also think you should try and see if Dm47021 would be willing to work on this phone, if a phone was donated to him

What's going on with the stock kernel? Does it not boot?

What's going on with the stock kernel? Does it not boot?

stock kernel is for JB

my kernel is nothing like the stock kernel

i took this kernel

https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_kernel_sony_apq8064/tree/cm-11.0

and made it work with the ZTE 8x30 phones (some models), it has all the new ION, media, Adreno, and such, it is more for KK than for JB

my kernel will not work with stock JB ROMS

stock kernels with not boot my cm11 rom

I do not think you will get cm11 to work with the stock kernel, unless you use all the Legacy trees for cm11, like how the Warp Sequent was done

my kernel will allow you to use the official cm11 repo with out using any Legacy stuff

How well does your kernel work?

How well does your kernel work?

i would say good, it is fast, and there are no crashes or errors that I am aware of

Graphics performance is much better using the OpenGl 3

the problem that you will face is that the stock camera libs are built for the older ION manager, and dont want to work with the new ION manager

here is my thread if you want to review, but it has gotten side railed a bit

http://androidforums.com/official-u...loper-tester-thread-zte-msm-8x30-devices.html

also keep in mind

if you get stuff working on this phone

there is a good chance you can get it to work for

ZTE Imperial N9101 (apollo) MSM8930 U.S. Cellular CDMA/LTE
ZTE Overture Z995 (becky) MSM8930 ATT\AIO GSM/LTE
ZTE Unico Z930L (coeus) MSM8930 Straight Talk GSM/LTE
ZTE Dave T83 (demeter) MSM8930 Telstra GSM/LTE
ZTE Source N9511 (hera) MSM8930 Cricket Wireless CDMA/LTE
ZTE Grand S Flex ???? (iris) MSM8930 GSM/LTE
ZTE Sonata / Radiant Z740 (metis) MSM8230 ATT GSM
ZTE Awe N800 (nex) MSM8630 Virgin Mobile CDMA
ZTE Blade Apex ???? (oceanus) MSM8930 ?? GSM/LTE
ZTE Max N5620 (stormer) MSM8930 Boost Mobile CDMA/LTE
ZTE Warp 4G N9510 (warplte) MSM8930 Boost Mobile CDMA/LTE

the whole purpose of me making that thread, and trying to cover as many phones as possible, was to try to get as many devs as I can working on it, but my plan did not seem to work, maybe the ZTE phones are just not that popular

oh and this ROM they are using was built for metis (Radiant), but has some custome files for AWE like kernel, and prop and such

you can easily take the metis files and put use them in the nex (AWE) folder, and just change the name and stuff

the tree was designed to be for multiple devices

For what it is worth i flashed this rom and then went back and flashed gapps kk 20140105 it installed half way then aborted but after boot play store is there all went well. Sound seems to be a factor when i try ok google. Other than that this looks good
