Root [Rom] VBO

Well...

Being more adventurous than smart I flashed it this morning. It did not go well for me. I've never flashed a ROM that specifically said not to do a data reset.

I rebooted into CWM recovery and performed a backup and then flashed the ROM. It booted up with the old school Android logo. It has the ICS lockscreen. The Nova launcher is what it is. The font for the icons is different, real thin. There was no data. Nothing I could do would get the data to work. Using switchit I forced it to LTE only. I had bars, but no data. Did a couple of reboots, toggled data on and off, nothing helped. In the about phone it showed connected to LTE:13 but the data showed disconnected. Also the ROM is not rooted. I was out and about and could not connected it to my computer to re-root it.

So I decided to declare defeat and restore my backup. At that point the phone bricked. Now all I see is the G'Zone logo with "now loading" for hours and nothing else.

Bottom line: I can't recommend this ROM to anyone, even people I don't like.

How to install
If you install the ROM and the M050 will not boot.
Install it as follows.

After CWM Recovery INSTALL...

1. CWM recovery boot
2. Initialization C811-M040.zip flashing
3. CWM recovery flashing
3 Reboot
4 camera test run
5 POWER OFF
6. CWM recovery boot
7. VBO-JB_S5-Xposed_UNLIMITED-signed.zip flashing
8 Reboot

Mines done; it won't boot to the point that my computer sees it. I'll have to get a new one 'cause I'm using a Blackberry for now. I had forgotten how bad these are...
 
I have an upgrade available so I transferred it to one of my other lines and ordered another one - I have unlimited data and don't want to screw that up. Even with the bullshit $30 upgrade fee it was cheaper than insurance which is a $100 deductible.

I'll have it sometime Monday and will be back in the game.
 
It blew my phone up, not exactly fun but I've been in the game long enough to know that you are not responsible for what I do to my phone.

Are you running this on a Type L or a C881?
