Can someone help me? I reverted back to the original rom to check some differences and now I can't install this ROM back...every time I try to get clockwork mod to install the rom all it does is just reboot the phone.

Had this problem, all you have to do is go into rom manager and chose the option to flash clockworkmod recovery. after that it should work again :)

Yeah ROM Manager has its little issues that are unexplainable like not being able to flash a new ROM without USB Plugged in (on some phones) and than you cant flash another ROM without Clockworkmod, idk what the deal is, maybe there's a reason for these things and I just dont know =/.

Is anyone else having the problems I am having? Trying to preview/set live wallpapers like Galaxy and some of the other live wall papers is causing "process com.android.wallpaper" to stop unexpectedly. I made sure to clear data and cache before installing this rom.

Did you clear dalvik cache?

Did you clear dalvik cache?
Is that not the data/cache its asking you to clear before it boots into recovery mode with ROM Manager? If so yes, if not then no...and how do I clear it? Thanks

EDIT: Okay, I rebooted into recovery and wiped the dalvick cache, rebooted the phone, made ROM manager redownload, wipe data and cache and install the rom again and I still get some of the live wallpapers making the app crash.

try putting the rom on your sd card, boot into recovery, clear data/cache and dalvik cache then install the rom from recovery, im not sure, but im guessing the dalvik cache remakes it self when you turn the phone on

Either I'm not doing something right or this rom just don't like my phone...I put it on the sd card and did everything and my live wallpapers still crash.

Anyone else having problems with the youtube widget on this rom? The search button rarely seems to work for me, and when it does the search results are extremely lacking... is there a way for me to install the youtube app that came with the ally insteaf of this "better" one?

i think those exact wallpapers crash on my gfs ally as well plus her small gmail bug :/ but she still loves the rom none the less.

Are you sure all of you are cleaning cache+data, and dalviks cache because i had the bugs before i cleared it, after clearing everything it all worked fine.

cleared cache and data and in advanced cleared dalviks although i think dalviks gave some cant access mntblck2 or so error then said a clone was wiped last time i tried on her phone on clockworkrecovery.

Use the recovery to clean everything not ROM Manager

I don't like ROM manager or clockworkmod recovery. That RA_GMN thing is better in my opinion. It's a little difficult to set up if you don't know what you're doing, but once you do it you don't have to worry about it again.

Well I am glad I'm not the only one having these issues...I love the rom too, just wish I could fix it lol. Hopefully Trident can figure out why they are crashing.

Ok So I just flashed to the Velocity Rom. It was really cool! I didnt look at it for very long but I didnt seem to have any problems getting my gmail.
Maybe I dont understand the real problem that everyone is haveing though. Then I flashed back to my saved Nandroid. :D It was PERFECT!!!
Exactly the way I left it. I mean to the most Minute detail. AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME. And if what Vmanisme and Zombiexx said is true you should be able to put you Nandroid on a brand new LG Ally.

That is completely Sique.;)

Now for this stupid NOOB (aka me)

How do you get you contacts back if say you wanted to use this Velocity Rom or any other Rom for that matter?

I have so much to learn (I guess you can call me Grass Hoppa.)

Thanks! :)

[Actually updated the OP to state that all users must wipe data and cache a bit earlier.]

Sorry for the bugs and slight confusion guys.. it's really, really hard to build a ROM for a phone that you don't actually have..

Well your doing a fantastic job.
So what are the odds we could port some version of Adobe Flash to this baby?

I mean (i Phone) did it and they call it Frash... Word has it that they originally stole it from Froyo and ported it. Why couldnt we do the same thing?

Sorry I said the "i" word.

No. There is no chance of this. Even if there was a chance of Trident wanting to port it, it would be absolutely pointless to jam Flash 10.1 onto any android 2.1 device. 2.2 is coming out for the ally, and unless abode blacklists the phone, you could install Flash then. Porting Flash to 2.1 would just be a waste of time, especially for a phone that would probably be unable to run Flash well at all, unless the ally gets overclocked.

Ok so heres a dumb question...

Now that I have Velocity on my Phone, what happens when the OTA Froyo rolls out? Do you just unroot it take the OTA and then re-root it via the one click method?
If you do this will that give you the old Superuser instead of the new cool one that came with your Velocity ROM?

Or do you need to go back to your original "OS" that is not Velocity then take the Froyo?

What do you think the proper thing would be to do here?

I'll base a future version of Velocity on Froyo as soon as I can get my hands on it. Then you can just install it like you did with this version.

Well Thats cool.

However the reason I ask that question is I have been setting up the preferences for this ROM Velocity, putting on my ringtones, redownloaded all my apps and just customized it like I use to have it before I Flashed the new ROM.

Is there a way around this?
I am lazy.... I didnt want to have to do it again for Froyo. LOL

I know probably a dumb question... Sorry Grass Hoppa is still learning.

And I'm guessing that Velocity version with 2.2 you're talking about will be 0.3? Judging by your signature you're still working on 0.2, and unless you're Linus Torvalds and you've compiled 2.2 yourself, 0.2 will be have Android 2.1, right?

A froyo build right now would be extremely buggy. Until LG slips up I wouldn't expect a froyo build that is very useable. I'm pretty sure .2 is going to be the same as 0.1.1 with bus fixes and possibly some new features.
