Root [ROM][WIP][4.4.2] CyanogenMod 11.0

Point of note, there is a ton of Qualcomm in the stock ramdisk that is not in the new ramdisk. Possible hardware issues in Cyanogenmod
 
Okay, I am having a fairly major issue, I cannot get this stupid thing to not use set metadata. I have tried changing the flag to everything I can think of, but nothing helps. I have moved the flag and everything, but every single time, it uses set metadata. Idk.
 
well lets use set_metadata then
i'll upload a kernel to be used (just set it as the prebuilt kernel) and compile cwm again
it'll use set_metadata then
 
so now that it builds. now the next step is getting it to boot. try booting the cm11 with stock kernel boot.img. that may help a little bit
 
Already tried that, it still doesn't boot. I thmk part of this issue is that I cannot find anything about selinux support in the kernel.
 
*HAS A GENIUS IDEA* Since the nexus 5 runs on a qualcomm msm chipset, why not compare the ramdisk for my build to the ramdisk from the Nexus 5. Yeah there will be proprietary blobs, but there are also proprietary blobs in the stock ramdisk.
 
any news on when this will be available? Ive got my bootloader unlocked and flashed Eagerest wolfs CWM and downloaded the GApps, just need CM11

keep up the good work guys!
 
From what ive seen for other phones running custom roms the first time you boot, it usually takes a while.... but then every time after that it boots up fairly quick.... useless information, but thought i'd throw it out there...
 
It is, and I apologize for my super long hiatus. I had some issues, lost both of my jobs, and ended up having to move back into my dad's house. I will say though, development on my end will now be significantly slower, because I don't have as good of an internet connection.

You kind of answered your own question, diidn't you?? Vitra has better specs.

I only have the Valiant.

Now that I own a new Nexus 7, I realize how slow my Valiant can get....

The Valiant is still a decent phone. And battery life on mine can pass 3 days. Guess it comes down to is it for work or play....

May I ask why you ask? ;)

Do you use stock battery or aftermarket li-ion, mine didn't come with a stock li-ion and need to buy a new battery, a li-ion, so my phone will last for more than about 8 hours...
 
stock battery, but under clocked to 700mhz max and 196 min.
Used only sparingly on day one, but 4 hrs hotspot on day 2

Had to power down 30 minutes earlier than I wanted to....

Those are great questions you are asking, just create topic for those and let this thread be about taking the Valiant which is an android 4.1 jelly bean device SAFELY to the next level, ... android 4.4 Kitkat with all the NEW features of kitkat.

Sorry, I wasn't being clear at all: what I really meant to say was, given the similarities between the two phones, does anybody know if we can take the ROM being developed for the Valiant and possibly run it on the Vitria with only minor and easy modifications (for the hardware drivers, for example)?

I have the Vitria, and am very happy with its performance, and would love to be able to run KitKat on it :).

And sorry, I don't mean to take this thread off-topic, but didn't want to start a Vitria thread within the Valiant forum (or should I?) :).
