Romney vs. Obama

But everyone knows that Romney does not want to show his tax returns because he doesn't pay much based on percentage. No news here.

Then he has 0% chance of winning. Note: All were losers.

PolitiFact | DNC says presidential candidates usually release tax returns but Romney won't

"Of 34 presidential and vice presidential candidates reviewed above, only seven -- Brown, Buchanan, Huckabee, Forbes, Giuliani, Lugar, Nader -- declined to release personal tax returns. So while most follow the practice, not all do. We rate the DNC

That's not true. Obama and Romney are in a tight race right now. The candidates you have listed would not have won anyway had they provided tax returns. How many of them were the official party nominees? And Nader was a joke as a presidential candidate.

The record speaks for its self, if you are provide tax returns, you still may lose, if you don't you will lose.

You are quite a prophet. There is not enough data to make such a conclusion. Following your logic, Obama victory was impossible four years ago because he was Black, for all Presidents before had been White.

Not sure why ones tax returns are even relevant. I certainly would not expect the CEO of my company to release his.

It is not tax avoidance by illegals, it is draining the treasury from tax dollars. In the report, it stated that 4 billion dollars were claimed by illegal immigrants by fraud. While it does not look like a lot, it all ads up. Consider welfare, education, unemployment for displaced workers etc. The problem is out-of-control spending with little oversight.
I really doubt that the majority of federal or states budget deficits is lack of oversight for education and benefits. I'm not saying it doesnt contribute, but still, its not say, 8% of the budget.

It depends LOL I was drinking beer with some people yesterday who claimed $500k was merely enough to live comfortably.
"LOL" sums up those peoples statement nicely indeed.

You dont elect a CEO to guide and help several hundred million people, do you?

Not sure what difference that makes?

This is why I hate politics with a passion. The left is beating the crap out of Romney on this issue and he cannot win no matter what he does. If he releases another 2-5 years of returns, they can (and will) bash him for not releasing them earlier and they'll still claim it's not sufficient. If he releases nothing, they claim he's hiding something. And the entire issue of his tax returns is completely irrelevant in the first place. The left hates Romney for no other reason than because he is the Republican nominee and that's all there is to it. The right is no better. You have right wingers who are still bashing Obama for the birth certificate thing and he's released everything but they are STILL not happy. Meanwhile we ignore the important issues like the fact that we are hemorrhaging money.

I would consider them relevant. I just wouldn't choose who to vote for based on them unless they showed something fraudulent...kinda like some congresspeople's tax returns.

Also relevant is school records. Anybody see Obama's yet?

Also irrelevant. Obama has been on the job 4 years. You can't judge a guy's job performance after 4 years and decide if he should be retired or rehired? Come on now.

Romney gave McCain 23 years worth of tax returns when he was seeking the VP job, but McCain gave him the boot. Romney is afraid the voters will do the same.

To judge if one is fit to be President of the U.S.

Romney has already proved this was necessary information when he gave McCain his tax returns to be considered for the job of VP.

I don't even know what to say to this other than I think it is ludicrous. I'm definitely not voting for Romney (not that it matters because Texas will go red no matter what my vote is), but I have no idea why a tax return should be a determining factor in whether or not someone is fit to be president. I just don't see how it is relevant at all. Quite honestly I think it is nobody's damn business, but there is this weird obsession with it and I'm not sure why.

We should be voting for people based on the merit of their ideas to help the country. The size of their wallet is completely irrelevant.

Well now days, it seems the people we vote for based on merit is to help their wallets instead of the country.

Traditionally, presidential candidates release their tax returns...

What information is on a tax return that would help someone "judge if someone is fit to be President?"

Also, just because McCain wants something doesn't mean it's relevant. Just saying.
