Root Roms, Does anyone agree?

Candidly, and it was mentioned above but I'm too lazy to find the post and quote it (sorry), excluding themes and some features, a ROM on the DX seems like a good way to mod the OS to remove all the bloat. One alternative is to go through Root Explorer and manually rename APKs to BAKs, download new apps that work better than stock, etc. The ROMs save users a lot of this trouble. But, I can accept that stock OS with carefully removed bloatware would run as nicely as many good ROMs. Indeed, I'm doing that just now. However, I still have been hunting around for ROMs, because for me, vanilla android is the goal...and then building up from there with any Blur features that you prefer.

Point is, I sure as heck don't think that all of these sweet ROMs are garbage. That is way beyond the pale. These guys/devs put a lot of good work into creating an environment that each user may want...and that's the point of Android vs iOS, right?

I totally enjoy running and experimenting with all of the Rom options out there, both the good and the bad. But I was playing with a good friend's DX the other day just adding Root, TiBu, Adfree & WiFi Teth... you know the basics.

To my surprise, her phone was blazing fast and very smooth. No ROM, no Bloat removal. I'm not saying I'm going back to stock. BUT, I do get the feeling that the stock experience for users now has gotten much better than for us launch day buyers who felt we were in Beta stages on the DX.
