Root roms

Newbie
they are so many roms to choose from..
but i'm looking at ginger villain, CyanogenMod 7 and Redux2

just want to get some feedback from above mentioned roms

thanks in advance :)

I've used both CM7 and currently on Redux 1.2. IMO, Redux is superior as its stripped, fast and stable with bags of room.

CM7 is good and full of happy customers but I like the streamlined feel. Just flash each rom for a week and see what you think. I find that flashing new roms is the exciting part as you're experimenting and finding what's right for you :).

Titanium Backup for your apps (remember to restore Missing Apps + Data never System Data).
MyBackup Root for sms and a few other optional tings and of course do a nandroid backup from recovery just in case.

is nandroid backup something like a full backup that backup all data?

It's a complete backup of the current state of your phone; rom, data, apps, layout - everything. You can restore your phone exactly to it's current state in case anything goes wrong or if you just want to.

You do both backup and restore from recovery and it stores it in a folder called nandroid on your sd card. You know how to get to recovery, right?

I guess that's Amon-RA recovery. If you use ClockworkMod recovery it stores it in clockworkmod/backup.

Holytoa, I'd really recommend reading the guides and FAQs in the root forum (again if you've read them already), as these backup recommendations, and other things it might be useful to know, are in there.
