Did the update. Still problems. After many tries to resolve problem, after many configs done on phone and wifi card... still nothing. The problem is that it is a wifi card, not router. It has a little config with minor options I can change, like 802.1b preamble, Network address which is not IP and I don't understand what it means, receive buffers, scan valid interval and transmit buffers. That's all. In Connectify I can change only SSID, pass and security which is used to spread wifi signal. That's all too.

hey guys please help me... 
can't seem to root my x8 2.1
im at the part where i've already put in the code sh install.sh and lots of lines flashed until it says done, completed, turn off phone, flash 2.1 firmware, copy loader.sin from attachment and put it at firmware folder, REMOVE system.sin#
now when i look at the phone there are pop-up messages showing SORRY: the application com.android.phone etc has stopped unexpectedly please try again. with this i cannot turn off the phone and put in flashmode unless i remove the battery. when i do so and flash using binary flashtool, it does not seem to work anymore. what do you think should i do. i appreciate your help. thanks in advance!

You're on the right track...
After the lines flash its normal to have force close...
Remove battery, enter the flash mode flash 2.1 but remove system.bin and than flash

I'm using the non-gui version of binary's flashtool with 1.6 firmware files on it since I downgraded from 2.1. After I removed the battery and entered flashmode, I replaced the firmware files on binary's non-gui flashtool with the 2.1 files discarding the system.sin file(?) im not sure if this is the correct way of doing it, apparently nothing's happening with the flashtool, it cannot locate the xperia, just series of dots appeared, same goes with the gui version.. Any suggestion? Thanks again!

You need to connect your phone after it says searching for xperia and the dots appear

if you have superuser installed chanses are it's rooted. Congrats!
yup thanks, it's now a rooted eclair, also have xrecovery installed, now i'm trying my luck with app2sd but it's getting a lot more complicated, hope to get it work!

Did you wait? It may take a long time to boot 2.1. Give it about 10 minutes when stuck. And if still not working, try

yes its correct after this completes
reboot your phone
and flash 2.1 without system.bin make sure you've loader.sin (hope am not confusing you)
