Root Root 2.1 -The Easy Way-

hey,sorry,i saw one of suhel's comments and he said that if i had 1.6 rooted,i can skip to the adb shell part...i did that and all i got was a white sony ericsson logo...what should i do now??can u please help...
P.S. i didnt flash before rooting and i dont know how to flash to 2.1 kernal
 
i got stuck in this part:
"Flash 2.1-kernel (without system.sin !! kindly add the loader.sin file from 1.6firmware files as its missing in the 2.1 rus firmware ) using the flasher-tool by Bin4ry.

The phone should now boot, although the first boot can take a little while. If you get into a boot-loop or you just see the white sony ericsson logo (not the green one after the animation) for several minutes, it probably didn't work and you have to start over again by flashing 1.6."
i dont know how to

flash the 2.1 kernel so i copied and paste and replaced the contents of the '2.1-rus' into the firmware folder of the 'X10Flash-2.1'...then when i pressed x10 flash,it will stuck at the process after the 'searching for xperia'...

For some people the GUI version is not working. may be if u r using GUI try NON GUI.
If the flasher is not able to find your device -
Remove the battery and unplug the USB from your phone..
open the MS-DOS Batch File in non gui package. Answer all the necessary questions asked by the flasher and when u start getting lots of dots...................
plug the usb cable to phone and while holding the back button insert the battery.. The device will be found this time.

You re sure you have been pressing the BACK button all the time?
I m telling you this cos pressing it for a little while did the same to me.
The x10 Flash program couldnt flash my phone.

Hello, sorry I'm very new at this, only 2nd day with this phone!

When I type adb shell into cmd, I get the error that device is not found.

In device manager, I have a device:

Sony Ericsoon sa0101 ADB Interface driver...


which means it is supposed to work?

Please help, thanks.
 
it means u dun hav android sdk on ur pc..

try execute the command from the superoneclick folder if u hav..

like me, i execute the command from the flashtoolrelease folder..
 
Can you give me the instructions for me to do so?

Right now I'm using

cd c:\asdf (which is what i renamed flashrelease folder)

then

adb shell


which still gives me the error.

Also.. how come in all the thousands of guides it never says anything about needing Android SDK or other stuff. :(

well, u dun nid to hav android sdk if u execute it from the following folder, as u hav it already through the folder..
 
Ok, I've re-rooted the phone, using another app, z4 or something.

This time when I try to su,

the following comes up.

i have x8 rooted with android 1.6,but when i upgrade to eclair it seem it doesnt root anymore.do i have to go back to 1.6 and root again to make my 2.1 rooted??
 
as i'm a newbie and my internet connection at home is slow, anybody in manila who can do the rooting for me? i'm willing to pay if necessary.

you dont need to depend on internet connection for rooting

just download those files (might take some hours for you)
and follow the tutorial

:)

like I told you last time if you update your phone using SONY'S OFFICIAL TOOLS (SEUS / PC COMPANION) your phone will be like the stock one. just out of the box.

Can I use this one in this rar?

you can use mini's loader file or better you can use the loader file from the 1.6firmare :)
