Root Root 2.2.1 EASY!

SuperOneClick v1.7

Just use SuperOneClick to root. Follow the instructions on the page. This is how I originally rooted my Vortex, but I had Android 2.2 on it at the time. I used it to root my dad's Vortex and it worked a treat.

This is different than something like z4root...

When I used it I had problem with Busybox not working right, so I just downloaded Busybox from the Market and installed the latest 1.18 version to xbin and all worked well. I guess it copies over Busybox now.

Did this work against the LG Vortex running v2.2.1?

When I updated my Vortex with 2.2.1, I couldn't root it with Super 1 Click or z4root. Nothing worked. I had to downgrade back to 2.2.

Any info on this working with 2.2.1 Vortex?

I used it on my dad's Vortex. Worked fine. I didn't use the rageagainstthecage hack I used the other one...

His was 2.2.1 from OTA.
