Root Root after Update

I installed the update in the store before doing my research and now after scouring the interwebs it appears that the latest update has prevented the ability to root.

I read the highly informative post as to how to reset everything and start over. http://http://androidforums.com/atr...ot-before-update-please-help.html#post2505401

I was wondering if anyone had been able to locate information on how to bypass this process and root the phone post update? I have been searching for the past few days and I have not been able to find anything for the current build on the phone.

Any information is greatly appreciated

Is there any active development going on to root the new version? I really don't feel like reconfiguring / customizing to my likes after having to flash back. :-(

From everything I have read it is not possible to root after upgrade without taking GladRoot route.

It is actually pretty painless, took me less than an hour from start to finish.

There's always active development, but it has yet to bear fruit on this issue. Perhaps it's best to wait until after the coming upload fix, as that will probably kill root as well.

I used GladRoot and it worked great. I'm thinking that a similar backup and restore of the root files will be required after the coming update as well.

I have the 1.57 it came onmy phone but how can you find out if it's 1.57 with root?
If it came with 1.5.7, the chances are it does not have root. If you.want to be sure you can download any app that requires root, Titanium Backup for one and see what it does.

No factory phone comes with root. If you haven't rooted it or bought it from someone who rooted it, you do not have root. There's an app in the market called Check Root that performs some simple checks for root.

You might try the new GingerRoot exploit to see if that gets you root. There's a thread here and on xda-developers about it.
