Root and languages

Is there anyone who is able to help with this topic?

I've been searching for a while for firmware/kernel/root information, specifically on their relationship with the country region and also the language support and native keyboards.

My Galaxy S2 was bought in Thailand, but letter code is DX? (Does this even matter?)
PDA: KF4, Phone: KF1, CSC: KF1 (THL)

Kies wants to update my version to
PDA: KI2, Phone: KI1, CSC: KH1 (THL)

The current languages it supports as well as native keyboards include: thai, korean and english - both UK and US.

What exactly defines the inclusion of language support and native keyboards? According to the XDA official ROM page ([ROM+Guide]Official i9100 Firmwares KG, KH1/2/3/4, KI1/2/3/4/8, KJ1/2/3 Download - xda-developers), it has nothing to do with the CSC, which has been suggested in other threads.

and finally, how do you tell from the firmware list, what languages it supports? and if I flash with a randomly chosen firmware (which I assume you can), could I possibly lose my currently installed native keyboards, to have it removed or replaced with something else entirely?

Sorry for the lengthy question.
appreciate any help
