Root [ROOT] Flashable Odin tar

Don't know if this is off topic.. but now since root has been acheived, is it cooll to start using apps like metamorph to skin things? Just a thought. thanks for the devs support on this device. And thanks to anyone who can answer my question. :)
 
Ive installed drivers. Powered down. tried Home+down+power and Vol up/down+power, connected phone to pcs while downloading and nothing. No yellow box.
Usb Debugging is also checked.

Cheluz: do you have the Samsung drivers installed on your computer? Also, try another cable for shits n giggles, its worked for some.

Power+volume up+home, it will say something like push volume up to install custom rom, or something similar, give u a warning that it can damage your phone, push volume up and it will go into download mode.
 
hello and since yesterday ive been trying everything and no luck :c . on the binary download say's:no and i don't know why it doesn't want to work . i have tried to change usb ports ect. any suggestion?
 
you guys are Awesome! I rooted my attain yesterday no sweat after downloading the files and drivers. It took about 5 min and my phone was rebooted with root access. Also I noticed no one has linked any drivers. these are the drivers shabby gave me literally right before i did the root.

As for the 2 com ids... well I took my sd card out and that made it 1 id, stuck in back in for science and it showed again 2 ids.. I think this is because in some cases when you mount your phone it mounts as the phone and a removable disk, individually. So see if this helps!

I would like to personally thank all of you guys involved. the noise makers and the masterminds! now id like to do my part. Id like to help you guys test but I'm so new to this so is there a guide or something I should read about the processes involved?

and I know its a little off topic but im having real problems with my tethering... and I know that its not just me i saw some stuff in the indulge forum talking about the same problems I'm having. So maybe you guys look into whats going on there as well!

there he has the old PRL updates for download... but how do i load this onto my phone? cause im having tethering issues and i read on xda i think that downgrading the prl will help me with this

So using metamorph won't brick my attain for skinning something like the notications bar to make it transparent? :o
 
please help. i tried to root my attain and i'm stuck in limbo. i get this in the message box at the bottom of odin.

then it just sits there. and now my phone shows a picture of a cell phone and a computer with yellow triangle with an exclamation point in between them. did i brick my phone??

Did you have reboot checked? Unless you had REPARTITION checked you are fine. Try rebooting your phone.
 
i re-downloaded the all the files and did it again. worked with no hang-ups!!

I got an Attain about a week ago, and I've been trying to find ROMs for it. It seems the pickings are scarce. Is this the only root on this forum? I've browsed around and read most of the threads but things seem pretty incoherent.

Can we please get some stickies of good roots/ ROMs and the necessary programs to complete them? Yes I realize that this thread gives that information at its beginning. I'm looking for other roots and/ or ROM's and some organization, please. Thank you.

Root is root.. there are no 'other' root(s). The post at the beginning of this thread is the root method. And its the only way to root the attain.

There are no ROMs for the attain yet.
 
updated op with additional warning about repartitioning.

clean slate people, if you repartition from now on i will just laugh at you. dont believe me? check out some of my rom manager threads, i even take screens shots of me LOLOL'ing ;)

LOL, how quaint. I had thought there were plenty of warning throughout the different threads, but hell..
 
someone asked me to put it in the first post, figured that was prolly a good idea. hopefully due to it being there less people reparition :/

These instructions are as simple and straightforward as can be, anyone who bricks their phone due to failing to uncheck re-partition is just unobservant =/
