Root ROOT for 2.2, 3.30.651.3?

I just got my evo about a day ago and tried the unrevoked method in a failed attempt. I was just wondering if there is any way to root android version 2.2 Kernal 2.6.32.15 Build and software 3.30.651.3

What hboot version does your phone have (you can find out by powering your EVO off, then back on while holding volume down, it'll be at the top left, ie: 0.97, 2.02, etc.), I'm assuming you have 2.02? If it's 2.02 and above, it's not rootable via unrevoked. Unrevoked is currently working on a simple root method for phones that have these hboot versions (they're close). Follow the Unrevoked team on twitter for updates.

There are root methods for phones with hboot 2.02 and above, however I would not recommend this method unless you know EXACTLY what you're doing and fully understand each step......It's much easier to get a brick using this method.
