I've created a quick and dirty set of scripts that should assist in replacing kingoroot with SuperSU. I'll be creating a topic dedicated to it to help anyone who has problems without cluttering up this thread, but if anyone wants to use it while I type up a new thread, you can find it here:

It's not completely automated, but it should take care of the heavy lifting, and comes with fairly detailed instructions.
Thanks for your guide!!Worked Great. Anything on custom recovery?Screenshot_2015-05-21-12-17-46.png

I haven't had much time to poke around yet... Currently, I'm not really optimistic about it, tbh. I have had zero luck getting fastboot working. I get a nice solid black screen on what should be the usual fastboot screen, and with no screen and no access over USB, I can't even confirm if we have a locked bootloader or not.

I expect the bootloader to be locked, considering how much effort they went into for patching root exploits and locking down fastboot, but someone with a 7040N said they flashed a recovery for another phone, and while the recovery didn't work, they were able to boot normally and restore the stock recovery. That would imply that it's not locked, as any unauthorized flash on a locked bootloader *should* stop the phone from booting.

If the bootloader is locked, we need a safestrap-style recovery, and I personally won't attempt to create something like that until we have a signed stock image that could be restored through the stock recovery. Until we have that signed stock image, it's easy to end up with a worthless phone during the development.

If the bootloader turns out to be not locked, I'll attempt to make a custom recovery, but since I don't have fastboot access, that's still got a risk associated with it. Without fastboot, you can still recover from a bad recovery flash by flashing in normal android, so it's less risky than developing a safestrap recovery, but the phone does still have to boot normally. Most devices I could just boot into fastboot and restore from the pc.

I'm trying to get my hands on a cheap spare fierce 2, something with a bad ESN or similar, that I can afford to brick while experimenting. There are a few on ebay I've got my eyes on.

I'll rooted my phone a few weeks back (7040N) with KINGROOT (not KINGO ROOT) but now I want to switch to SUPERUSER if that's possible, can any body help.
your help will be appreciated thank you.

Can you link to what you used to root? If it's www.kingroot.net, that's what my script is intended to remove, I'd just heard people refer to is as Kingo. I was under the impression they're the same thing, I just don't speak enough Chinese to confirm that. If they aren't, I should probably rename my script... :p

Here's the script thread:
