Root root for gingerbread 2.3.3 + universal root guide

I followed all your instructions,
my Samsung is rooted now, I see Superuser in Applications,
everything works perfect !!
SG ACE, Android 2.3.3, XWKPW

Before I tried:
- SuperOneClick 2.1.1 - frozen at Step 6,
- Z4Root - nothing done,
- Universal AndRoot - I found only version for Android 2.2......

and now Im happy with your solution !!!!

I tried the SuperOneClick method and it didn't work.
I tried this one and it works!
Works on Gingerbread 2.3.4!

Download the latest file that you need for rooting here:

-This file *must* be renamed to "update.zip"
-Note that since the original file is a zip file, your phone may read it as update.zip.zip, leave it like this.
-Place the file in the parent directory of your sd card
-Follow the author's advice as stated in the start of this thread
-Profit.

2. Run in maintenance mode (power + middle button)
3. Update from sdcard, select the file upd_1.zip.
4. After the update completed - reboot in normal mode.

Thats all - now you have rooted ace with android 2.3.3, and superuser in your apps.

works fine 2.3.3 so far, so good!!

and I am new user of a galaxy ACE 5830. Thanks firstly to all posts in the forum but I have a request from you, I can not pass the phone in download mode or meintenance with the methods you listed here (power button + middle / middle button + power +-volumes)
I wanted to ask if there are other methods?

Hi guys,good news for some galaxy ace owners.I had 2.3.3 gingerbread firmware(rooted).4 weeks later i unrooted phone and upated firmware to 2.3.5,after succsesful update i tried this root guide.Everything is still great so i have 2.3.5 firmware (rooted).So now guys i want ask for something,what gives flashing?Thanks

Turn your phone off,not restart but actually turn it off. Whilst it's turned off hold and keep hold of the home button and then press and keep hold of the power button( so you are holding and keeping hold of both).

i had the same problem,then i changed the file name from upd_1.zip to update.zip,it did installed,but when the installation done,my phone still in the same version after i reboot...need help...

i use wi-fi even if i installed the rooting apps?
