Try the new update let's see if we can crash this sucker out ;)

Hi StoneBoyTony,

I've got the same phone as ozventrin s5830t and have just tried v8 after wiping my phone installing unroot zip from all previous attempts to root.

It installed without errors but phone is still not rooted.

Thanks for your posts so far, let us know if you figure out anything else.

Thanks

Does not work on mine Galaxy Ace GT-5830i. Still get "E: Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip" after ~3 seconds of installation.

Please help!

P.S. I've tried using upd_1.zip, doesn't work too.
P.S.S. I have Android 2.3.6

I'm glad if it worked for you. just make on restart of the phone to see that it will remain rooted I want to be 100% shure. ;)
Turned it OFF and ON and it is still rooted, SuperUser app is installed and running, tried to run System Tuner Pro and it seems to work fine.

Just one more question I have regarding apps. I've read in number of different resources that root gives you a permission to install apps on SD Card. How do you exactly do that? If there is a FAQ regarding that question, please link me to it if you could.

Hi,

So I have tried udpate upd 1 and upd 2 and v8 and v9 and superone click on my phone.

Each time with most of them it installs without error and the super user app is there but phone is still not rooted

HELP!!

I'm running 2.3.4

Problem is that the T vesrsion of Ace known as Cooper have totaly diferent structure of the system files and partitions from they previous version of ACE. I have an idea to make separate update zip but is going to be risky phone can be bricked and I don't want that to hapend. But in life you must risk some times to see the results as for me I have already bricked 3 times and replaced experimenting on diferent levels with other things. If somebody want to be a test pilot just step forward and say yes. ;)

I dont think there has been any changes besides the superuser app.. Could anyone tell me what you're supposed to be possible to do after you've rooted the device?

Question for StoneBoyTony:
Is Rom Toolbox Pro safe to install on a Samsung S5830L or will it "Brick" my Phone like Rom Manager did?
Thanks for this procedure for Rooting -- It worked like a charm!

ROM Toolbox is far more stable then ROM Manager but since you have rooted your phone that goes for everybody you have acess to the system files and playing too much with experimenting, boot animations, fonts, recovery if don't know what you are doing can couse you the same thing. I don't use either ROM Toolbox or ROM Manager I'm happy with my Stock ROM GIngerbread v2.3.6 and functional phone. 3 times I bricked my phone and 3 time replaced I learn my lessons and I'm in peace ;)
