Root root for gingerbread 2.3.3 + universal root guide

Did you root your phone successfully with this method?

I have The Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830D i installed the root file it said it was complete. I open Superuser and nothing shows up under apps it says no apps in list. PLease if anyone knows how to fix this let me know its a shitty phone and i would like to get the best out of it. P.S. anyone know how to get a flash player working so i can use crackle and other apps

installs properly in recovery, atleast, no errors show, superuser appears in apps menu, but no superuser permissions allowed for titanium for example, it says it has no root.

updating su binary says it has legacy as installed version it cannot find currently installed binary to update? please help.

Try again new version is out with SuperSU

still no go. thanks for all your hard work so far, but as far as the phone is convinced that the binary is not there/not installed in the right directory.

I think your internal memory is full from your Android OS that's why you can't root it..you need to have at least 4-5 mb free space ;)

not the internal memory is about System partition space of your Android OS.

its worth pointing out only the middle button si actually needed, I assume people say to hold the power button as well as thats needed to turn the device on, but if you eg. just doing a reboot then just holding the middle button will take you to recovery.

I have been trying to root my GT-S5830T for a month. Your universal_gb_root_v19.zip package did the trick on the first try.

My take on rooting the GT-S5830T Telstra version. So far I've tried to root mine using every guide that I could find and in all cases they complete ok but no root access is available. It seems that the only way is to firstly flash another firmware version and then revert to the Telstra version prior to rooting. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that the standard Telstra version does not have the folders in place to install the root stuff thus the failure. What I suspect is happening is that flashing a non Telstra version installs the standard root folder structure and then reverting to the Telstra firmware leaves this in place but restores the standard Telstra build. This would explain why rooting then works. I wonder if some bright spark could rewrite the root script to incorporate a means of installing the correct folder structure without the need to flash the firmware first?

Hey.Im using samsung galaxy ace with os:2.3.6
I have tried superone clip but they say that they cant root my phone yet.
I have tried unlockroot but they say that they cant root my phone at all.
If i try your method, will after that,when i connect my phone on Kies say that it recognies the frimware as a samsung(and it will provide me later updates) or not.Because it is vital to me to keep the phone updating and not be kicked out from samsung's updates.Please responce.Thank you

For all users on having problems to root the phone on carriers like:

- TelstraOne
- Optus
- M1
- Globe
- Virgin
- Vodafone
- O2
- Orange

I made a new zip file called universal_gb_c.c.b.s.f_v1.zip
for more information on XDA I'm too tired today to edit all my post here for rooting but it will done in the next days.

hi i am using samsung galaxy 551....i used "universal_gb_root v19,zip" to root. i rooted in recovery mode. i got the supersu icon in the app drawer.but wen i open supersu it displays an error


"There is no SU binary insstalled . super SU can not install it.this is a problem"..


please help how to resolve this.

Provide your Firmware:

Type on the Dialer : *#1234# it will show up your Version of the phone.

Gingerbread version in Settings -> About the phone

What Carrier Provider you are using.

I need this informations ;)
 
Updated v20 and the new update zip c.c.b.s.f

If you are on the following carrier providers

- TelstraOne
- Optus
- M1
- Globe
- Poland Plus
- Virgin
- Vodafone
- O2
- Orange run first universal_gb_c.c.b.s.f_v1.zip
and then root if you didn't have luck before.

If you are already on this carrier providers and you have try to root before and there is no SU binary first unroot then apply c.c.b.s.f and finish it with root v20. More info on the fisrt post.
