Root Root for htc wildfire???

Welcome to Android Forums, Avalon and Bang Bang Boom.

The HTC Wildfire has been rooted. Here is a rooting guide:

Root your HTC Wildfire Android Phone! | Gadgets DNA

Be sure to take your time with each step, and above all, understand that you're doing this at your own risk; you are responsible for what you're doing to your device, Android Forums is not, neither is the author of the root guide. ;)

Please post back your results. We'd like to begin a root guide sticky thread for the Wildfire.

Good luck. Have fun. :)

I have a rooting faq in my Sig. Ot is not a guide, nut hopefully it will answer questions

Good on ya, danfrance, I'm hoping something such as that will come along device specific for the Wildfire, even though the Wildfire is sort of a "Desire Mini" ;).

Then we'll have the beginnings of a Root Guide for Wildfire sticky going.

A ROM or two, or perhaps some user experience and tips posts and we'll be in business.

Darned good stuff, danfrance.

Any unroot insights (keep newbies in mind: step-by-step ;)).

Unrooting is the same process as debranding. If I have time, I'll see of o can point it out.

Only really know the basics as have never done it myself.

Basically download ruu from shipped roms and run the exe from ox

Does the handset have to be unlocked first?

I have a HTC Wildfire locked to 3UK, I've tried all sorts of rooting software, but it gets so far and then fails.

Would this have anything to do with 3's firmware and is there a workaround to ensure that it roots properly?
