I have a galaxy note 4 and it's carrier is verizon, I've tried and tried to find a root or anything for it for the last year. I need help, and I'm sure there's others out there if anyone could point me to a video or a forum, I've tried King root and that doesn't work so.. yea help please!

Welcome to our AndroidForums.

I've moved your thread over here to the SG Note 4 root area for you.

You should find threads and folks in here that can guide you to rooting your Note 4.

Cheers!

I'm almost certain root for the VZW Note4 is a no-go (with the exception of the VZW Note4 Developer Edition, sold direct from Samsung).
I haven't seen anything that would indicate that this has changed,at least not here @ A/F.
Just to be certain before throwing in the towel,I'd take a look @ XDA's VZW Note4 section & ask around:

Unless you have the Note 4 Developer Edition (which was available directly from Samsung), you can't truly root it. The Verizon Note 4 has a hopelessly encrypted bootloader, and I don't foresee VZW and Sammy unlocking it anytime soon.

I have a Verizon SM-N910V Note 4. I am unable to get root access. I am running 5.1.1.

Can you install CyanogenMod without having root and or how can I get root?

See @KOLIO's post #3 above...it doesn't look/sound like root is available for your Verizon device.

You do indeed typically need to be rooted to install a custom ROM (like CyanogenMod) since in order to be able overwrite the /system partition you (typically) need root access.

Without root you can't even install a custom recovery to even be able to flash CM
