I am having an issue getting it into recovery mode. I copied update.zip and installed ROM manager. When i hold down the volume keys and power on it just turns on. I did it 6 times in a row. Am i missing something?

Ok i got it rooted and Rom manager installed as well as Clockwork recovery.

My next question, how do i get the lag fix installed and go about uninstalling bloatware?

I also keep getting errors on backup on rom says E:cache/update.zip doesnt exist, any thoughts?

Using any file manager app on Android, check to make sure that file is really called update.zip, and not update.zip.zip, its an easy mistake.
