Root root help

I have been trying to root my captivate I897 for some time now. the one I am trying mow is the one click root, I get as far as reinstall files then it is supposed to reboot and be done but I get "signature verification failed"
any help?
 
Do you have the phone in USB Debugging mode? I Had a similar problem and that is what I did wrong. Most recently I had to do root a couple times before it took though after I Odin'd back to stock.

Hmmm, are you mounting the drive? You shouldn't if you are. Just let it be and not make a choice (mass storage, media, ETC) just plug in and go. I used 1.9.5 and had no trouble at all. the most recent time I downloaded the newest (2.2 i think) and had a hard time to get it to take. I ended up going back to 1.9.5.

That's about all I can think of.

not sure what mounting is but I just plug the phone in and go to one click root then at&t captivate one click root and let it go to the prompts scroll down to reinstall packages hit the power button and it should reboot and that should be it but it dose not reboot and I get the message "signature verification failed"
 
That's odd, I am out on this one. Hopefully someone else can come along to help. Sorry I couldn't get you through it.
